shailen Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Credit where credit is due, Nigel Pearson and his team did a fantastic job and if he had stayed for another 2/3 years he would have been known as our best ever manager. But we have Ranieri now, and from his body language and today's performance, he looks to be an improvement. He knows what works for the current squad, strengthened where we were weak and not changed a whole deal. You get a lot of managers who come in with a dictatorial attitude, to change things in their way, but Ranieri has really adapted his style to what works. The test will come with the way he handles players when their confidence is low after poor form, and any disputes that arise within the camp. BUT so far so good from me.
TMELcfc Posted 8 August 2015 Author Posted 8 August 2015 Ok two things to worry about, Jamie Vardy being caught being silly. Anyway, Pearson does deserve some respect but getting back to the point, I can see why people think the backroom staff will stay, but I honestly think Shakespeare and Pearson have such a good relationship that he wouldn't care where Nigel went, Shakespeare would follow.
placidcasual Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 We finished 14th in our first season in the Premier League, despite not spending a vast amount and having the second cheapest side in the division. He also won us two league titles during his time with the club, gave us one of if not the best match in our history against Man United as well as some brilliant moments (Forest away/Leeds home etc.). We were a bang average mid-table Championship side when he arrived. Can you seriously not bring yourself to appreciate that he did a fantastic job for us just because you're bitter about being wrong about him in March? Best match in our history? Hahahahaha. You can't be older than 16
Mark_w Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Best match in our history? Hahahahaha. You can't be older than 16 I certainly think it's one of the most entertaining. I'm 20 though, so on a personal level yes I'm only going on 16 or so years - plus a poll on this forum around the time of the game. It was still undeniably superb.

sylofox Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 OP you went to a game we won 4-2 and are top of the league (yes first game and means nothing) and you watched the bench. FFS to please you do we have to win 6-0+ every week so you watch the game.

I am shocked that a poll taken just after the game rates it high. That never happens. But the "Best match in our history"? nah.
ozleicester Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Pearson will be in Watford on November the 21st
tom27111 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 What a day! I'm glad Ranieri stuck to his word that he wasn't going to change things around too much, and we just left off where we ended last season. But... (And sorry for being negative) my only worry is Nigel gets a job elsewhere and the back room staff follow him. Do you think this will effect the players massively? Or am I worrying unnessesarly? I noticed Shakey and Phillips standing back with each other, miles apart from Ranieri pretty much a all game but that doesn't really mean much. Anyway, up the foxes!! Mate, if this is your ONLY worry, like you stated, I'll swap lives with you.I got 99 problems and Nigel Pearson coming back to haunt us ain't one. Just for the record, neither is my bitch.

I watched the game back on sky and I just said what I saw on there. Wondered if anyone else say anything I didn't which it appears they did. My only worry regarding Leicester City, I suppose I should've pointed that out...
CosbehFox Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 I think that's because Ranieri stands so near the touch line. Shakespeare spoke to him on numerous occasions in the second half. Judging the role Ozakazi (very similar to how Nuge would play in a 442) played it's clear communication is good.
