Kitchandro Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Hardly anything to be proud of, just because our cheapest ticket is comparatively cheap in this country doesn't mean our prices aren't still well too expensive in general.

Our pricing in the concourse is expensive. Pies used to cost me around £2.30, nowadays they are verging on £4.00
Alexikokopops Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 I am offended by the choice of charts in that article.
Voll Blau Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 I hope they do it properly and not like the shitty "protests" we have in England. I hope Bayern fans sit in the concourses and all come up chanting their heads off 5 minutes in and I hope that whoever is showing the game makes a big deal of it. That's what they will do. German fans are by and large way more switched on than English ones. There's always been plenty of huff and puff, plenty of moaning and talk about doing something, but then last minute, fans bottle it and nothing ever happens. Words mean nothing without action. We'll see what the Bayern fans do. It's a pointless statement anyway. Well there's enough action constantly going on in their own country that ticket prices above 15 Euros for away fans are pretty rare, so not sure you can accuse them of being all "huff and puff".
Guest MattP Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 British fans are just strange though. They buy the product first and then protest against the product. They must chuckle at it in the boardrooms when people turn up chanting against high ticket prices having just paid the high ticket prices.

It looks like we got our wires crossed. I meant fans over here are always huff and puff, and make a lot of noise, with no final action, rather than the German fans. Although the 5 minute statement might look good on tv, it's still a bit pointless as they've still paid up.

Yeah, I do see the "why pay and then protest" angle, but the problem is a club the size of Bayern would sell out a London away regardless of any boycotts. Remember speaking to a few in Manchester when we had Wigan away and they were at Old Trafford a couple of years back, didn't talk to one from Munich or even Bavaria!
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 But surely the fact Germany has the 50+1 rule makes their clubs much more likely to keep prices down than over here where we can have any billionaire coming in and milking the club for every penny they can. So I think our fans are as clued up and as passionate about keeping prices low as our german counterparts are, but our fans actions are a lot less likely to get results.

What billionaires are milking which clubs though? I doubt that Abramovich or the sheiks that own Man city or even our owners have made any profit from the clubs they own and I'm sure there are others. All this about you can get a ST at Barca/Bayern for 14p is disingenuous as there are very few of them and there are 20 year waiting lists to get 1.
