chili_con_carne Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Akinbiyi £5 million. Matt mills £5 million. Okazaki £8 million. Kramaric £8 million. Inler £5 million. Ulloa £8 million. You look at our starting line up and it's. Schmeichel £1mil. Simpson £2mil Huth £3mil Morgan £1mil Fuchs free Mahrez £750k Drinkwater £1mil Kante £5.5mil Schlupp academy Vardy £1mil Okazaki £8mil With the exception of kante who has been value for money. Our big money signings have generally been a waste of money so far. Ulloa had a good start but is very limited and definitely not worth his fee. What are your thoughts on this?
C-man Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Ulloa definitely not worth the fee? He scored 12 goals last season, without him we would have been relegated. He offers something completely different and is well worth a place in the squad, for me. Okazaki, Inler and Kramaric have about 20 starts between them. Give them time.
chili_con_carne Posted 27 October 2015 Author Posted 27 October 2015 How many points did ulloa actually win us. A lot of his goals came in defeats or draws
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 You're too eager to pass judgement on Okazaki and Inler. Both have been poor so far but there's plenty of time left for them to show what can they do.

Kramaric £8 million. Inler £5 million. Ulloa £8 million. Bit Harsh to be honest, Okazaki hasn't been bad and only 10 games. Ulloa helped keep us up last season and was our top goal scorer hardly poor. Kramaric is still learning the trade and it still very young. Inler - Cant judge he is just being kept out by 2 outstanding midfielders currently. All 4 will play an important role this season we still have a minimum of 30 games to play far to early to judge
chili_con_carne Posted 27 October 2015 Author Posted 27 October 2015 If you think our big money signings have been a success you are on another planet
ScouseFox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 How many points did ulloa actually win us. A lot of his goals came in defeats or draws well in the first five games alone his goals got us 6 more points than we would've got without them.
goose2010 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 How many points did ulloa actually win us. A lot of his goals came in defeats or draws That doesn't matter, he was in the team that stayed in the division. What about if he forced the save that got us a corner that we scored from all made a pass in a move that we scored from? it doesn't matter he was on the pitch and played a role in the team that finished 14th in the prem.
filbertstreet Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 If you think our big money signings have been a success you are on another planet kante's a big money signing
goose2010 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 If you think our big money signings have been a success you are on another planet Anyone that was signed and played last year, if it was 1 minute or a 1000 minutes has to be considered a success, as a team we did what we set out to do.
chili_con_carne Posted 27 October 2015 Author Posted 27 October 2015 Imagine thinking 11 goals In 40 appearances equals value for money for £8 million
chili_con_carne Posted 27 October 2015 Author Posted 27 October 2015 Vardy has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances this season. And he cost £1 million. But 11 goals in 40 appearances is value for money at £8 million. Wowzers
Dan Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 The one where I think the money's questionable is Benalouane. £5.5mil we paid for him wasn't it? Yet the bloke hardly ever features. Can respect the reasons why but it's a fair bit of money to spend on someone who isn't playing.
goose2010 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Imagine thinking 11 goals In 40 appearances equals value for money for £8 million imagine getting relegated from the richest league in the world because you didn't score enough goals?! 1 in 4 in the top flight in your first season in a team that were newly promoted.....might as well release him on a free.
Dan Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Vardy has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances this season. And he cost £1 million. But 11 goals in 40 appearances is value for money at £8 million. Wowzers 11 in 40 is probably about average for £8mil now based on this league. 10 in 10 for one million is outstanding, it's extraordinary, but it's hard to repeat. There is so much value out there. Clubs in this country just don't look hard enough for it.
inckley fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 well in the first five games alone his goals got us 6 more points than we would've got without them. Yes, his goals were worth six points and two FA Cup victories alone.
Voll Blau Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Imagine dragging Akinbiyi's name up as your first piece of evidence when trying to make an argument about our current squad.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Imagine thinking 11 goals In 40 appearances equals value for money for £8 million £8 million for someone who became last seasons top scorer, In the current market that's very good value.
goose2010 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 The one where I think the money's questionable is Benalouane. £5.5mil we paid for him wasn't it? Yet the bloke hardly ever features. Can respect the reasons why but it's a fair bit of money to spend on someone who isn't playing. Tend to agree on this but he did show glimpses of value in the league cup, he was solid. Like I have already said still so long to go this season all of the squad will be used no chance huth and morgan wont serve a suspension this season.
C-man Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 How many points did ulloa actually win us. A lot of his goals came in defeats or draws A minimum of 10, without even analysing what his general play did for us. So yeah, probably more than any other player you utter retard. Everton, Arsenal, United, Stoke, Newcastle (plus Newcastle again and Spurs in the Cup) and Swansea.
ScouseFox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Yes, his goals were worth six points and two FA Cup victories alone. what a ridiculous post
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 How many points did ulloa actually win us. A lot of his goals came in defeats or draws 1pt Everton - home 3pts stoke - away 3pts Utd - home 1pt - Arsenal - home 3 pts Newcastle - home That's the points he won us with his goals. So 11 points single handedly down to just a handful of his goals. Without those 11 points we would've finished bottom. So your argument has no logic
MooseBreath Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Vardy has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances this season. And he cost £1 million. But 11 goals in 40 appearances is value for money at £8 million. Wowzers Yet you would have written Vardy off in his first season based on your criteria of writing players off if they haven't starred in their first handful of appearances.
