Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Crikey how bad is some of the stuff at the BDO!? Just watched a game in which atleast 5 legs were won in over 30 darts.
Matt Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Crikey how bad is some of the stuff at the BDO!? Just watched a game in which atleast 5 legs were won in over 30 darts. Shocking. I can't enjoy that stuff. Well i'm going against the grain and want Lewis to win, I backed him from the start at 16's. I did it E/W so i'm guaranteed a return (I was even if he went out last night) but there is big difference between getting the E/W payout and the Win payout. C'mon Lewis!

Some of it is shocking, and the women's stuff is terrible. The amount of 1's and 5's they hit is unreal. Same with me, although I don't really like him I backed Lewis before the tournament so would like him to win. If Gary plays the way he did last night he will win and win well though.
EastAnglianFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Some of the averages yes can be much lower than what you see in the PDC, but I actually find it quite admirable that these guys can push a 90+ average whilst also holding down full time jobs. I enjoy both codes for what they are when so many via Twitter etc for some reason can only pick one.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 The only difference between the two organisations is one is bankrolled by sky and one is basically the pinnacle of the pubs and clubs scene, and even with that there aren't that many in the PDC certainly that have won it that didn't start in the BDO.
EastAnglianFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 The idiots out in full force tonight at the Ally Pally, half not even watching the other half singing about Taylor or MVG
EastAnglianFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 It's a shame the Final was a bit of a non event, but after the MVG v Taylor semi I guess it was likely to happen. Glad Phil lost, massive mistake/arrogance not having a dart at the bull and just assuming MVG wouldn't take out the 144

Glad Phil lost, massive mistake/arrogance not having a dart at the bull and just assuming MVG wouldn't take out the 144 that was sensational. it's ridiculous to leave anyone in the tour on 144 (it's hardly a 157 or 155 type of horror finish) but to leave the world number 1 and one of the best players ever on it was just stupid. the 7 missed darts to win it didn't help either. phil's finished imo, he's not won a tv title for the best part of two years and he can't beat MvG no matter what.

Totally agree, Van Gerwin is in Taylor's head now and mentally doing to him what Phil has been doing to others for years. The leaving of the 144 was insane, as you say it's a nice finish, and he must know the double 12 is one of Van Gerwins strongest (not that he has many weak one's)

MvG hits the treble bed with his first dart in hand a ridiculous amount of times, and once the first is in the second usually follows, then as you say double 12, shelling peas to him. the fact he couldn't get over the line is all mental and not to do with the darts he was throwing. he played really well all weekend tbf but he's going to have to beat MvG at some stage and i can't see it happening any time soon.
