Captain... Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I am sick of people referring to Manchester City as City. United deserve to be united as there no other Uniteds anywhere near deserving of the name. There are normally 3-4 Cities in the top flight, I'm not saying we deserve to be City but Manchester City certainly don't.
ozleicester Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 had a massive swear session at the tv lead in as they kept saying "city" but referring to manc scum fvck em alll.... theres only one Leicester city
stripeyfox Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 You need to channel the annoyance into something positive. I was watching with a Man City fan. When the commentator said "city will be disappointed with this", I said to my mate "too right mate, I think we should have got five"
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Who cares? There are two Manchester clubs so that's how people differentiate between the two. You sound like Assem Allam.
foxfanazer Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I was watching it with a Man United supporting friend and he was fuming on the couple occasions they were referred to as Manchester

Nalis Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I was watching it with a Man United supporting friend and he was fuming on the couple occasions they were referred to as Manchester Yeah I was thinking this, a lot of people outside the UK refer to Man Utd as Manchester but more recently I've heard the same said about Man City. The annoyance for Man Utd fans is that it implies Man City are the more relevant team, cant say I'm complaining.

I don't think it helps that they both have shit nicknames, the Red Devils and the Citizens they both just seen awkward and clunky. It's not like Foxes, Spurs, Gunners, Canaries, Magpies, Hammers, Baggies, Saints... Etc They all trip off the tongue easier.
Nalis Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I would argue its more Stretford than Salford but I guess they're both just glorified suburbs of Manchester anyway.
David Lowe Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 The Utd / City thing annoys me too. It should be Man Utd / Man City if they want to shorten it.
davieG Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 Neville Folger always called other teams like Cov and Bristol City when commentating used to annoy me probably one of the reasons I voted for the Fosse renaming.
