Gerard Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I'm not sure myself but I can't see them allowing 6. Top 4 of us. Spurs, Arsenal, Man City. Chelsea win cl Liverpool win Europa for example. 6 clubs from the same country would just show how much of a joke the competion has become. 5 I could sort of cope with if it's the top 4 and a cl winner. But on the other hand if we lost 2 of the top 4 places it would be a disaster for us if we finished 3rd and missed out. There can only be five maximum. If Chelsea won the CL and Liverpool won the Europa then only three would get into the CL and third place in the league would be in a qualifying round.
Monsell1976 Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Did he really say that? What does that guy get paid for?Saw something on Twitter, didn't bother to read it, as he hard to listen to in commentary, think I'd fall sleep if I had to read his quotes
Number 6 Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Save the back patting for when we've won the title. Players should accept nothing less than that trophy now*. *the one you get for finishing first, not the one you get for top 4 Arsene.
fuchsntf Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Be wonderful watching Barca dismantling them!!.. Can't wait! No, No..We need Arsenal to win, injuries, tiredness, little knocks, playing in different competitions for as long as possible. We'll give them the excuses, we take the title..simples!!!
Loggy88 Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If we don't win the title, it's still been a fantastic season and I'm so proud of the club.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 So long as it's man city or arsenal. A Chelsea win could see 4th place disappear. Does anyone know the rules of if spurs win the Europa? As doesn't that gain champions league football next year as well? Need English teams to win both and us finish 4th. sprcfically a Man U Chelsea double atm. Highly unlikely

If we play the rest of the season like we did against the divas (My new pet name for the Arsenal team seeing as they act like a bunch of privileged divas). The title is as good as ours as crazy as that is to hear never mind to say.
nnfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 FFS people on here like we're dead or something. It's been great so far but there are still 12 games to play, we are 2 points clear and in the corresponding 12 fixtures from the first half of the season, we had 10 wins and 2 draws! Let's enjoy this journey and reflect on it when we get to the end, not when there is still a mile to go!

My main point was that it's pretty rare for any team lock the season down as theirs this early on, and for such a variety of reasons. Acknowledging what we've achieved so far isn't about making excuses, it's about motivation for pushing on.

We could still collapse to the point where I'd be a bit Indifferent about the season given the position we were in. Obviously any European football or the highly unlikely event of getting top 5 and getting screwed out of Europe by near impossible circumstances would have to be seen as memorable. If we were too drop to sixth or seventh and not get Europa would still be a good season but I'd struggle to view it as "our year" or a great achievement. Let's face it many non fashionable clubs have managed that. Thankfully the position we are in the way we are playing and the inconsistency of pretty much everyone around us bar Spurs means that would be some turn up for the books.
Nalis Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Hope Liverpool or Man U win the Europa league so there 5 Premier League in the Champions League purely to give pundits no excuse to moan about how we'll apparently drag our coefficients down in the Champions League next season...
