Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I reckon that's one of the best refs performances I have seen. Let the game flow, didn't buy any falling over from any team. Even got frustrated at himself for not playing the advantage in the 2nd half. The same can't be said about his lino on the right hand side in the 2nd half, got every decision wrong just about.

He didn't buy the falling over but never had the strength to book for diving? Kept telling players hurry? Why not tell them to hurry with a card, that's what they are for. He did it over and over again.

Clattenberg is a grade A bellend. Got a right smug face.
ithuriel Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Cant blame Clatten for us not getting a third, just would not go for us tonight. Better ref than the previous one by a country mile.
Arkie Bennett Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I get frustrated when refs play the advantage, even though the fouled player can take no further part in the move and it fizzles out. The numerical advantage lies with the offending team who have successfully broken up the attack. Play the advantage when there really is one, but not when it's doubtful. Tonight we saw Schlupp taken out and the resultant "advantage" ended because we didn't have the numbers. Referees often conveniently forget to book the miscreant too.
yag101 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Clattenburg is easily the best ref in the league, but that says far more about the state of refereeing in this country than it does about his ability.
sdb Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Clattenburg was excellent I thought. One poor assistant didn't help him. Such a contrast to 70-80% of officials unfortunately.
