If this is the case I presume you don't know how to wire up a plug. I have no idea how to wire a plug but I have switched over a washing machine before. Didn't know what I was doing and spilt a fair bit of water but got it all done in about 10 minutes

separator Posted 23 April 2016 Posted 23 April 2016 I'm still confused as to whether the op wants a plug fitting, or to have it plumbed in. Do you have an existing water supply & standpipe (for waste water) already in place and a mains socket nearby? Washing machines these days just need a cold water supply, just attach the hose to it, clip the waste pipe to the standpipe and plug the mains in. sphericalfox Posted 24 April 2016 Posted 24 April 2016 Cut it off and fit a new one If they are looking for someone to fit the washing machine to the sink, I'm doubting they'll have a.) a spare plug b.) the tools to cut/strip wiring c.) the ability to reattach it. No disrespect O/P, and I'm not sure that's the problem anyways. I've moved more times than I care to, and new builds or new cabinets fits have a tendency not to have the hole cut into them (for obvious reasons). Without the details it's hard to guess what the actual issue is, as there are loads of youtube videos that give step by step instructions on how to hook up a w/machine to the sink. I've moved into houses where the kitchen was a hodge podge of second hand cabinets and the landlord was that big of gobshite that when he made the space for the washing machine that somehow I was supposed to cut through 3 panels to get to a sink where there wasn't enough room to get the waste pipe on, and had drain it in the sink for my tenancy. The joy of student accommodation so many years ago.

The person who installed the washing machine connected a new fixing under the sink (pipe) and connected the pipe from the back of the washing machine. He's not done it properly as e-21 keeps coming up on there. Back to square 1.
