Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 I was a tad disappointed that we seem to have given away some of our Sports Science secrets away on a BBC website article today. Beetroot Juice! Arsenal will be buying it as I type! Also whilst I understand we are perhaps playing down expectations again, I was also a bit surprised at Top's public comments that we won't win the Premier League next year. Is that the message we want to be giving to existing squad members and players we want to keep and attract? Not being critical as we have not put a foot wrong PR wise, or on the field for that matter (!) this season but just bit surprised... Thoughts?
pazzerfox Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 Hey man...We are in Champion league...Dilly Dilly Dong.
CollinsLCFC Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 I think there is a lot more to it than 'Beetroot Juice' and it's not giving secrets away. Other teams have their professionals and probably use similar regimes. I don't think from one article they will scrap everything they do and work off that. As for 'Not winning the title next season', the key for Ranieri this season has been 'taking each game as it comes'. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. We have shown, that determination, teamwork and dedication has worked, the only aim this season was to get one point more. Very unlikely, but who isn't to say it couldn't happen again? The type of club we have, the ongoing project which has advanced further than anyone could imagine, will in my eyes, make Leicester a very attractive club for determined players. Rather than throwing money about at overpaid hype. Next season is going to be very interesting, lots of money for all teams, new managers, new players. I'm excited as it could be as unpredictable as this!

Anyway whatever we have great set-up. Agree with you that next season could happen again and certainly will be interesting! Think we will in the top half and we don't want to lose that Band of Brothers feel.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 If Top said: "Our aim is to win the title again next season" then at every press conference when Ranieri plays things down and talks about 40 points / top 10 etc, a journalist will say: "But your owner says you should be aiming for the title" and it all goes around in circles.
ARM1968 Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 We'll be too busy concentrating on winning the Champions League next season. Top knows what he's doing.
stretch1965 Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 Isn't beetroot juice a film with some weird fukker with a white face and a dodgy suit in? Seriously tho their is more to our science than just that,
nobby.bk Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 I think the owners want to consolidate LCFC's position in the top 5 or top 10 of the table first. Title winning is not a priority for next year. The pressure on the players will be too much if they are expected to win the title every year.

BeetrootJuice Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 beetroot juice, beetroot juice, beetroot juice... Yes?
