Captain... Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Not bothered about them running out of shirts, they have released them early enough to get another run, I'll pick mine up in the summer. I'm sure the club has learnt a lot and will look to do things better, but, and I know it is only shirts, we would do better to remember we are not one of the big boys, we have a huge swell in fair weather fans and band wagon jumpers and assuming that this demand and popularity will stick around is naïve and we shouldn't make rash decisions. whether it is over ordering on shirts/merchandise, or looking to expand the stadium and put all the players on huge wages. I do think they could be getting some advice in from someone who has managed the logistics of a European season at one of the big clubs, because I expect our first European away to be a badly organised farce. I also think the city should be better prepared for an influx of potentially a large number of rowdy European fans looking for a night out after the game on Tuesday or Wednesday night. We are a huge story and whoever we draw in the groups will be very interested in going to Leicester.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 The lack of Status Quo was disappointing. That was the cornerstone to our success in the 90's.

PhillippaT Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Play Nessun Dorma instead of hey jude. Shouldn't be too hard to use a recording of Bocelli from Saturday?

Rob1742 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I think clearly someone should have thought about printing extra programmes. However, with the same number of staff, you suddenly have to do the following: 1. Source 32,0000 plastic bags 2. Agree the pizza deal 3. Sort the pizza leaflet 4. Source and agree the bands 5. Source the badges 6. Arrange for 32,000 bags to be filled 7. Marketing for new shirt 8. Extra staff for shop 9. Hotels for the Thai guests. 10. The singer and all he needs, flights, stage etc 11. Beer and water for 32,000 12. Beer stations 13. Artwork for the clappers 14. Shirt for the singer 15. Work with Barclays on the presentation 16. Numerous guests wanting tickets when it's full 17. Extra parking requests for guests. 18. Player of the year awards a few days after including the memorabilia raffle. 19. Fans village set up with whatever that includes. 20. Blue and white flags. I will have missed somethings here for sure. We aren't Manchester United, we have a fairly small group of people and you can't employ people that don't need supervising for just a month. Yes, I would have ensured all flags and t shirts were purchased at the club shop by having a decent range in there to sell. Yes I would have ordered another 10,000 programmes, but I suppose they are doing stuff they haven't done previously and as quickly as needed. It's gone up a notch with our owners. I can imagine someone saying "let's give everyone a free pizza" and there is quite a bit of work involved in getting that right. If it was me, I would have concentrated on merchandise and the income that brings. The Thais though have concentrated on giveaways that don't bring in income and are a logistical nightmare. But that's their choice.
DennisNedry Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Agree that they should have printed a lot more programmes. We couldn't get one (at the ground an hour before KO) and neither could quite a few other STH's I know who get one every week. Are they doing a re-print?
