Constructive Feedback For The Club

Recommended Posts

This week has been the most amazing many of us have ever experienced and I don't want to take away from our fabulous achievement. At the same time, a number of issues have arisen which are currently spread amongst multiple threads. I don't doubt for a second the club logon to this forum and it may be helpful to have somewhere for anyone to put any feedback. From what I've read, I remember the following:

1) Replica Shirts / Merchandise - Clearly underestimated the massive demand. Maybe the initial release should have been limited to one per person to give more people a chance to get one. Very hard to police in realistic terms, but at least make people join the back of the queue again for another one. Nobody would want to do that more than twice. Stops bulk buying/ ebay selling which seems to have happened again. As for scarves etc, people buying 5-10 should not be allowed.

2) Match Programmes - The same as above really. Clearly bulk buying has been a massive problem. The amount printed needs massively increasing but it should also be limited to one or two per person. I expect similar demand for Champions League matches against the European giants next season and we don't want a repeat of random people walking away with 10+ who aren't even attending the game. Yes people can go to different sellers, but it makes it much harder to get a large amount with a limit in place.

3) Freebies - Clearly there has been a big issue with "fans" stealing from other fans, in particular the plastic bags placed under each seat containing the wristbands etc. Probably need to be handed out as you come through the turnstile to stop that happening again. Also with the free beer outside, people exploiting the generosity by wiping the stamp off and going back over and over again. Again, very difficult to police I accept.

4) Rushers - Some pretty worrying stories coming out of fans stampeding through open fire exits into the family stand after the game yesterday. Clearly lessons need learning from that. Nobody should be put at risk by idiots charging in, and the club have to take full responsibility for making sure it never happens again.

I'm sure there is other feedback. Please keep it constructive and lets not take away from what we have achieved.

5. Incompetent bar staff, but not a majority of them, just some. Some just stand around talking with fellow colleagues and not clearing tables etc and other general housekeeping.

I was collecting for birch's run on the turnstiles and couldn't believe the amount of people trying to get out for a cigarette, which suggests to me it was their first game. Clearly a lot of tickets were touted. Feel sorry for folks who didn't get a seat who deserved one.

Something has to be done on the ticketing side too.

I know little can be done about the Touts and the protection they get from those sites, and its not like the Gov can do much as they are all registered abroard. They could do something like Chelsea do though.

Security was very lax about more than one person coming through the turnstile on one ticket, saw a few people do that.

There was 4 seats empty behind me, nothing had been touched, presumably they had been sold and it was a couple of failed touts (possibily something genuine too).

Even the 2 free SoccerAM tickets were sold on again for £300. Lots of people I didn't recognise there and ST's who hadn't a clue where their seat was.

Edit: As above with the smoking directly around the entrances, lots of kids about, not very pleasant for the families.

Allow memorabilia to be sold outside the ground. I love collecting LCFC pin badges and used to buy them outside the ground but it's been banned now.

Better merchandise - I also love collecting pennants but club don't even sell them anymore!? Merchandise used to be so much better.

The baby merchandise is shite. 7 years ago I got my mates little girl a great baby grow saying "My Dad says red is a naughty word" Previous to that my sister got her mate (Huddersfield fan but last name Fox) one with "Born to be a Fox" for her son. When I went to get my nephew something when he was born at Christmas all they do now is a blue one with a city badge on and one with a teddy in blue scarf.

I said it in the KP Stadium improvements thread, I'd like to see repainted/new royal blue & white seats in the ground. The ones now aren't really bad, but could do with a bit of care. Given what's been done on the outside of the stadium already, it would be nice to see some improvements on the inside too heading into next season and the future.

And, this is probably being very picky, but if the club are planning to get new or newly painted seats, could they move the 'L' letter of LEICESTER CITY in the East Stand along so that it would then be positioned in the home stand. It's currently positioned in the away end, and adjusting every letter along a bit to make space for the 'L' letter would look smarter for me. If that makes any sense?? Again it's probably me being way too picky.

Have a set Corporate allocation of tickets at the start of the season and stick to it.   For this game far too many were given to sponsors and the owners clearly had quite a large block.

If we're gonna have a fan village then the club shouldn't be ripping people off with over priced warm beer or no one will bother with it.

I understand the frustration at the fact there seems to be a lot of merchandise on eBay.

However 1 of our group went and queued on our behalf of us and purchased 12 shirts and numerous scarves.

As the majority of us were at work on Friday. I know that all those shirts and scarves have gone to good homes.

Am I to miss out because I'm employed and couldn't get out of work Friday?

As for one per person. Maybe 1 per customer ref may have been an option. But if you have 4 kids but they don't go to games yet. You wanna go home and tell them they have to share one shirt lol

I agree on the programme front tho. I reckon they could have printed 50k and sold them all.

Let's be honest here- who didn't wipe off their stamp and go back and get another beer? Think we did it 4 times. And I'm no longer a STH either lol

Are you that hard up for a tenner you're willing to possibly embarrass yourself for it?

I think overall the club has a lot to learn in terms of retail and commercial capabilities. The swell in support for our club both in the city and worldwide is only going to balloon if our success continues.

Could you see a club like United, Liverpool or Arsenal having these issues?

It's not a surprise that the club has struggled with demand for some things - especially ticketing. Now is the time for them to learn the lessons and come back better prepared over the summer. I've no doubt we will overcome it - the owners have so much commercial experience.

Have they run out of shirts then?

Medium and large apparently.

Match day experience is spot on but the overall marketing strategy of the shop and merchandising is nothing short of embarrassing.

Could probably have put a priority system on kit sales, season ticket holders, members etc before leaving it open to anyone.

pointless. shirts are shirts there will be some in time. just cuz you aint got the kit for the first game after release means nothing

that would be because the stewards would not let people out due to 10,000ish fans outside the stadium ticketless. any open doors could have caused a crush.

damn them owners, rescuing our club then wanting their family and friends there to see it.

all gone now looking at the poster outside the shop. small medium and large gone.
