In that case mate, I bow your greater knowledge. The issue of why what you say happens is of course, a much bigger subject.

Mate I could go on all day, lets just say it's an extremely frustrating line of work. In fact, quite demoralising a lot of the time. I'm sure we all like to believe that people can change - and they can - but from my experience of meeting the same 'customers' day in day out time and time again I think it's safe to say it's a rarity, and whilst our justice system is the soft touch that it is, it will always be like that.

It's tough in the King's Lynn ghetto man. Glad I left that stage of my life behind me.

did you stab your boss?

Quite saddened by some of the comments on this thread.

Domestic violence and violence against women are huge issues and completely under-reported. By the time police are involved it's quite common for that particular instance to be the culmination of prior abuse. I'm not accusing Danny Simpson of being a serial abuser but it's clear he has gotten away from a fitting punishment by virtue of being able to afford a super lawyer and being in a line of work that lets him take advantage of curfew restriction times. The signal this case sent to the public is astonishing and the it's fairly obvious Danny Simpson hasn't shown any remorse (publicly at least).

I don't buy this idea that 'Danny Simpson the abusive partner' is separate from 'Danny Simpson the footballer'. Would anyone here seriously afford that distinction to a work colleague who was known to be abusive or violent towards other men or women? It's the same weird double-standards footy fans seem to give every now again - Ched Evans and Adam Johnson come to mind recently. At the least Danny Simpson should have carried out his community service with some humility. He had no intention of ever completing it and it's that lack of acknowledgement of wrongdoing that I find upsetting.
