And me. I really felt that was a going to be a gaping weakness for us this season but he's been superb. Doesn't offer as much going forward as the modern day full back but loves defending

Yep fair enough. His lawyer tried to argue that he would be willing to pay a fine instead but the judge ruled that given Simpson's financial position, a fine would be "no punihsment at all".

No trip to Thailand, probably no Trophy Parade, and may well have to chopper it back from Stamford Bridge to get home in time on Sunday night!

I'd be amazed if hes not there. Yes, he might have to sack it off as soon as the players get to Viccy park at 7 ish but he'd be fine for the open bus run.

To be honest it just seems like punishment for punishments sake, he was given community service and he has been doing it. I'm sure if they used their brains they could find a way his fame and success could be used as part of community service. If they can't then surely a fine and or deferred community service would be preferable.

 

Making him wear a tag just seems obtuse, he's hardly going to disappear with the amount of press attention he is getting, yes he can afford a fine, so make it a big one and use that money to do something good.

I think he's done a sufficient bit of community service in contributing to something that's put a smile on everyone's face and will have the streets and parks packed out with celebrating community members on Monday! How about a cardboard cut out on the bus so at least he'll be in the film footage / photo's. It'll confuse the parole board when they pick up their papers on Tuesday!

If he hadn't gone to try and wriggle out of it he would just have had to crack on with his community service albeit with intrusion and he wouldn't have to miss out. No sympathy.
