Anyone know if Kasper, Shinji and Riyad have been asked? Only reason for asking is it obviously clashes with most of Pre Season and potentially the opening games

Aus Fox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 I would imagine Daniel Iverson may well play at the Olympics, in addition to the U23 each team is allowed 3 overage players, I would imagine most countries would ask players if they fancy it and from there select who they need. Japan, Algeria and Denmark amongst the qualifiers, can't see any of our lads choosing this and possibly missing out on the Charity Shield and finding themselves out of the team with Champions League coming up.

Cavani Thiago Silva Neymar Marcelo De Gea Azpilicueta Jordi Alba Juan Mata Ryan Giggs Aaron Ramsey I would name more but they weren't 'big' at the time.
stripeyfox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 I don't know what the criteria are, but the comparison with London is skewed a little. The London games were a couple of weeks earlier (starting July 25 2012) with the final on August 11th. Rio won't conclude until 20th August.

Beijing had these players: Messi Aguero Mascherano Riquelme Roy Makaay Ronaldinho Looking at those squads there are so many players in that year that are big stars now though!
raiden_dz Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Mahrez wasn't asked by the FAF they already gave the list of players without him their philosophy is to let the players have some rest and prepare well for the new season, and for others to prepare their transfers to other clubs
