Gutted with the result, felt we should have pushed on at 1-1 but nevermind - guess we'll have to go back next year Heat and sun in Blocks 111/112 was draining. Felt that contributed to a lot of 'apathy' from some fans who spent were forced to spend the game shielding their eyes rather than sing, and probably (mixed with alcohol) also led to a lot of the infighting described in the other thread. On the positive side, great to see my team at Wembley for the first time since 2000 and a fantastic atmosphere in The Torch pre-match. But my personal highlight was the march to the stadium from The Torch, down Bridge Road and up Wembley Way. Incredible scenes - has anyone got any videos from it? My sentiments entirely. The highlights were The Torch and The Walk. The lack of atmosphere generated by our fans (better than theirs by a mile) was disappointing - bar about 40 of us nobody was interested. Even after the goal Jamie's Party couldn't even get going - poor from the majority on that front.
stripeyfox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 My thoughts on the day Atmoshphere a bit muted, but when all said and done - it is only a pre season "friendly" Wembley - brilliant facilities, catering expensive but plenty of choice and reasonable quality Crowd mangement in and out of the game very good - nice to know when you have young kids in tow Atmosphere at / outside the Torch generally very good but spoiled by a few tanked up "kids" who were acting like complete tools which then attracted the closer attention of the police
Babylon Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Remind me never to bother again if I get front row tickets, about the most pointless experience at a game I've ever had.

And maybe rightly so. He himself looks off the pace a little. But we know how good he and Huth can be. I recall a couple of seasons ago, when threads were created targeting individual players and Wes was one of them. Donkey, a blunder waiting to happen...and similar comments. I really fear this could happen again. The defence was so shielded last season (for the majority anyway) by the centre mids, that they made very few errors. They felt confident and were put under less pressure. Watch this space..... I think it’s a bit harsh to blame Morgan for either goal. Lingard started his run after King dived in and missed his challenge. I’ve been saying for YEARS that Drinkwater and King are not an effective Midfield partnership - there’s not enough cover defensively. Mendy or Kante would have just jockeyed Lingard and forced him to pass. To be fair to Morgan and Huth, they are then both trying to cover for King who is on his arse and out of the game. Plus, if that had been a league game I’m sure that either Huth or Morgan would have just blocked Lingard and taken a booking rather than trying to tackle him. For the second goal, Schlupp was covering on the inside of Demi Gray, I think he should have been covering on the outside. Had Fuchs still been on the pitch I think he would have been in the right position to block the cross. It’s then a brilliant header from Zlatan, who has the advantage of being very slightly off-side!
