I'd be more worried as a united fan because I honestly thought they were pretty shite. Think we were unsettled by the defensive subs that we made. Reckon Musa and Vardy will be terrifying together. Mahrez was anonymous. Good wembley experience though. Surprised you say that. Utd looked far more composed then they ever did under LVG. And I thought they were playing in third gear to be honest. They beat us, and will be up there come the final knockings I think.

I disagree tho, I thought they looked very average, the best thing you can say is they were well organised defensively.
daddylonglegs Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Learnt three things today: 1 - United are definitely back on top in terms of 'most hated teams'. Nothing to like about them. 2 - don't see any reason that we can't do as well as we did last year after today. we should definitely beat Hull and I didn't feel Kante was missed. 3 - Mahrez doesn't seem particularly interested. I know that's he has a somewhat 'lackluster' style of play but he was making wrong decision after wrong decision and didn't give Simpson much of a helping hand.

We were controlling the game till Lingard took on our whole defence and floored them. With the money United are spending, they should have battered us. I would say we had the better play in the majority.

I thought he tracked back pretty well for most of the game, and really helped narrow the angles. Shaw and Martial are just a good combo down that left side.
Lovejoy Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 The Mata incident at the end amused me. He was fuming with José.
Great Boos Up Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 With a pre season of Celtic, PSG, Barcelona and Man U (think about that for a second) we're not in too bad a shape.
Guest Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Happy with that. Attack looked threatening, defence held on well but simpson needs to have another true RB in to challenge his place. Drinky was good, King did his best but he's not a starting PL contending player. I guess Mendy will start against Hull. Mahrez didn't have his best game on attack but still controlled the ball well passed well and he ran back well. Gray looked very good. I think that Musa will replace Okazaki in the SL pretty soon.
VIKTOR-LE5 Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 I would just like to see a player in blue pass to another player in blue more then 3 times on the trot in the opposition half.
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Gray looks very promising and makes some very threatening runs. He just needs to seriously learn when to pass it and not shoot.

TheSomersetFox Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Gray has to start against Hull. That's pretty much it
Guest Manini Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Some of the comments regarding King are sickening. He wasn't at it today fair enough, but he'd die for that shirt. 10 years in football is a ****ing long time, he's seen us through thick and thin. Some of you need to wind your necks in and show some respect to the players who got us to where we are. overall it wasn't the best, tempo was low and the intensity wasn't there (bar brief spells in the second half). Good signs though: Musa is fire, Vardy looks like he's picking up where he left off, Okazaki looks like he's turned a corner, Dimi is going to play for England. Would have been nice to beat united but the season isn't defined today. We've got one of the most exciting seasons in our history coming up after just WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE. Just take a step back and enjoy the ride some of you. After what I saw last year and what I saw in the second half today, I have my complete faith in Ranieri to take us on to even greater things! Come on Leicester, can't wait for hull next week!

Couldnt give a shit how long a player has been here, if you have a shit game, expect to be called on it. King as a 2 with Drinkwater doesn't work and I'm not sorry to say it wouldn't be Drinkwater I drop. I think the most pressing issue is to get Riyaad's contract sorted, it's doing him nor is any favours.
Jattdogg Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Unlucky. Game could have gone either way so not too botherd with the result. Sure woulda been icing to win it but its all good. How mourinho still has fellatio on the pitch is beyond comprehension.
sphericalfox Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 We're nowhere near the level of fitness we started with last season. I do hope with some high-tempo play and hours on the training ground we can quickly get back up to that standard.
NGoloMode Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Mahrez would have 3 on him very quickly. Mourinho always knows how to win a game.
Ashley Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Shocking defending for our first goal absolutely awful.

Let's be honest, he isn't the direct replacement for Kante is he, I think we all know Mendy will be. I'm not even saying King is second choice, but some of the comments today before a ball has been kicked in anger are embarrassing. Ranieri gave him a run out at Wembley and let the "old guard" have their day in the sun. I'm sure that won't be the starting 11 next week. We've been well and truly spoilt if this is how we get after a 2-1 defeat to United in the charity shield.

We saw similar at times last season, I remember criticising him for it. I think that's just him though, when he doesn't play well he looks disinterested in a way that Vardy never does. I don't think recent games are enough reason to think he won't be up for it this season.
st albans fox Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 We blew sland away first game with our intensity and fitness. Hopefully can be the same next saturday
