Didn't deserve to win that game, but I would say the same about Man U - it's not like they battered our goal. In fact Musa had a great chance just before Zlatan scored which could have nicked us the game.

Our back 4 concerns me at the moment. We don't seem as solid as last year which is dangerous given our opening run of fixtures. We also clearly miss Kante, we really need a player to help win the ball back for us to start the counter attacks. Mendy had one cameo doing this that led to a great forward surge from the RAF, but you can see that he's not a like-for-like replacement. If it was up to me, I'd get someone in who could be before the window closes even if thats harsh on King and Matt James.

Of course it would be nice to win, but not the end of the world to lose, especially in a tight game.

Good:
- Vardy still has his touch with a great finish. Thank god he didn't leave!

- Musa is an awesome addition to the squad. Allows us to rotate key players or can go into the team to really cause teams trouble.

- Grey continues to improve. At some point I can see him forcing his way into the first team and staying there for a while.

- Hernandez' long throw is insane! A new weapon to win some points in ugly games.

- Came back from a goal down and looked competitive.

Bad:

- Didn't win the game which was a good opportunity for more silverware.

- Simpson continues to look like a weak link. He won me over last season but positionally he does make costly mistakes.

- Mahrez's head is somewhere else. Hope this can resolve itself because he's the most gifted player I've seen play for our club.

- Morgan has gone off the boil! Looks more like the 2014/15 version than the premiership winners captain.

- Our plan B needs refinement. Teams are going to park the bus en masse against us this season.

Anyway I'm confident we'll get this right before Hull, and am excited for the season to start!

As I said in the match thread I had to intervene between a 20 year old and 50 year old having a fight over the t-shirts left on the seats. It was pathetic and both were lucky they were not thrown out.

overall I think it was a poor quality game. Not surprised we conceded from a cross when Fuchs went off. We need to sharpen up because we look very one dimensional. Mahrez had an awful game and was totally nullified by utds defence.

despite the above it was a great day out, a good atmosphere and I was proud to see us playing st footballs top table.

Kante was great but let's move on. Realistically we are not hoping to defend our title. I'm prepared to give the lads a chance and do should other fans.

if we lose to hull this place will melt down like I've never seen

Some of the comments regarding King are sickening.

He wasn't at it today fair enough, but he'd die for that shirt. 10 years in football is a ****ing long time, he's seen us through thick and thin. Some of you need to wind your necks in and show some respect to the players who got us to where we are.

overall it wasn't the best, tempo was low and the intensity wasn't there (bar brief spells in the second half). Good signs though: Musa is fire, Vardy looks like he's picking up where he left off, Okazaki looks like he's turned a corner, Dimi is going to play for England. Would have been nice to beat united but the season isn't defined today. We've got one of the most exciting seasons in our history coming up after just WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE. Just take a step back and enjoy the ride some of you.

After what I saw last year and what I saw in the second half today, I have my complete faith in Ranieri to take us on to even greater things! Come on Leicester, can't wait for hull next week!

King will be around and do the busines through the season, but I cant c see him  being c 1st choice for PL Or CL, off the Bench yes, and cover for injuries .

This is no critic On MR Leicester...Its I see him playing the same role as last season...

Gray I am sure will see more games, in all competitions.

Next week Huth is out due to suspension, so Hernandez, will be replacement.

Mendy comes in for Kante.

I believe Muza could well start with Vardy, but wouldnt be suprised, if Shinji got the nod.

THE bench, choices from Ranieri, will also be interesting.I myself have my preferences,

butcI wont opinionate, or throw outcany negatives on choices or performances, until

well into October.Game day, I will definitly wait until until final whistle, before making any remarks.

Mahrez 1st performances, I like many will be waiting with bated breath,

Will he come straight out of the blocks like Last season,

will he start indifferent.

Will he in all aspects be match fit, or might he need awhile.

Albrighton or Gray

Fuchs or Chilwell, will Ranieri, make a call for first choice, or will he

have them load sharing..???

I didn't think we gave it our all and treats like a friendly as we should. Vardy and Musa will rarely play together and today was just a final chance to try a few things out. Also, regarding the defending, the mistakes that have occurred against Lingard and Suarez the other day won't occur in real games as our players will go in properly and professionally. As much as I would like to have won it, it is only a friendly and we can't risk too much.

Too negative today. We showed man utd too much respect and allowed them too much of the ball. Last season it worked as Kante used to win the ball back. We need to change the way we play a bit .Play like we're a good team with confidence  instead of holding on and hoping for a break .

Kante didnt always win the ball back, he also made mistakes, dont lets use this game ,as to make over exagarated claims.

Doesn't Mahrez have games like this???

Then he does something amazing and all our frustrations are forgotten.........

Plenty of positives today..... let's turn Hull over then the Gunners!!!

Eric Bailly is a beast of a defender. Class act all game.

Thought he was a bit mixed to be honest. There were times where his concentration lapsed and he got skinned a couple of times. Also some quite wild and unneccessary challenges too. Undoubtedly great potential but I think hes got a lot to learn to become the kind of top quality expected at Man Utd.

I think the biggest worry I have from the game is our poor ability on the ball. Only really Drinkwater is a good passer of the ball, and for me this will always create a problem in that we wont be able to control a game.

Big plus points obviously Musa and Gray who I think have earned the right to start the Hull game now. Mendy did quite well in the centre of midfield when he came on. I wouldnt write off Okazaki either, a very useful option to have around.

Spent most of the game feeling like shit & buying water, of what I took in though we had our chances but I thought we were too poor in the final third, we were lacking on that killer pass, no creativity whatsoever in all honesty. Not good enough from the wide areas today, Albrighton was shocking first half, Mahrez just too greedy at times.

Man Utd weren't particularly great, could of gone either way tbh.

Roll on Hull, roll on bed, I'm fvcking knackered.

Those of you who think Kante wasn't this or wasn't that, didn't do whatever are in for a sorry surprise. We have to move on from him yes, but it won't be smooth progress at all. He was our defensive screen. That has gone.

Fuchs, gray, and Mendy and well should work well

Not a great game, heat probably played a part, the second half team looked much brighter than the first. Gray and Musa added energy although Okazaki did a good shift in the first half.

We really should've stopped their first goal.

I think folk are being tough on Morgan. He kept Ibra quiet nearly all the game.

King is not the partner for DD that we need. Mendy or Amartey please against Hull and possibly a new CM. I wonder if Mata is for sale!

Albrighton had a shocker. Mahrez is doing his best at ending transfer speculation by doing f -all. Schlupp should have been on for Mahrez not Fuchs. He is a winger not a LB.

Musa will miss chances and score some great goals. Gray is going to be a star.

The only way that Gray will be a 'star' is if he learns and learns quickly, when to pass the ball. He's got the attributes...quick and tricky, but the mental side of the game is what stands those really good young players out from the others.

He's young so this will improve..decision making, composure and the such like. I want to see him come on this season and not fizzle out into yet another tricky player who doesn't link play up well enough.

Went today as a neutral due to being offered tickets by a friend.

Thought you were better in the 2nd half once Musa and Gray came on.

1st half was flat but then it was a friendly and maybe the heat had a factor.

Unlucky to lose in the end maybe..

Things I took from the game;

1.) Our Kante replacement could infact be Danny Drinkwater - he was everywhere today and would probably been awarded MOTM had he been on the winning side

2.) Mahrez might benefit from a change of wing. At times today if felt like the cutting inside has become too predictable as he kept running into banks of 2/3/4 defenders.

3.) Bailey for United appears to be a really good no nonsense defender. Shame we didn't nab him.

4.) Hernandez seems to be an astute piece of business.

5.) Musa + Vardy looked exciting for the first 10 minutes they were partnered together - but a lot more work needs to be done on their link up play to make it a proper threat.

Glorified friendly lol

Nah, disappointed to have lost, thought we played well, fairly even, deserved to go to penalties, dare I say we shaded it and deserved to win.

Good day out, very enjoyable.

I think vardy and Musa could work having seen them together today. And i am now 100% certain that Gray should be starting ahead of Albrighton next week! Exciting times ahead! We are an attacking force that will get goals for fun this season!
