Hull City Post Match Thread 2 - 1

Judge us after 5-6 games, there are always a few 'shock' results opening weekend and dodgy performances. We weren't brilliant, but who's to say that next week we won't turn in a performance against arsenal and really make a statement? Let's not forget just how spoilt we truly were last season! In my opinion a mid table finish and a good showing in Europe/the cups would be more than acceptable. We should enjoy being Leicester City fans, there really is nothing else like it! Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and get behind them again next weekend, looking forward to it already!

Pressure was on us and off Hull. I could almost tell we'd lose yesterday. To lose when everything was in our favour and the opposition looking so ill prepared is such a Leicester thing to do.

I think our players aren't running at 100% and maybe being in a friendly competition in preseason like the ICC hasn't done us any favours.

Morgan don't forget didn't get a break really last summer and he looked good even though it still took a few games for us to tighten our defence.

Everyone can see we need a strong midfield partner for Drinky if we are to continue a 2 man midfield, hopefully Mendy steps into that role, or we have time to invest before the window closes.

Otherwise as others have mentioned, a lot of teams aren't looking that sharp yet. It was the first game of the season, and at the risk of repeating so many others (although who doesn't on here) next week against a fairly average looking (against Liverpool anyway) Arsenal then hopefully we'll get 3 points and kickstart our season properly.

Don't get the doomsayers basing their analysis on friendlies and 1 game. I also have another theory about Mahrez. Isn't his wife expecting and last time she had major complications? That's got to play on your mind a bit too. For me though he looked yesterday like a lot of games last season. He had moments of the player we know he can be but it didn't work out for him a lot of the time. But that's Mahrez, we let him off the occasional game because ultimately most of the time he's amazing.

Last season we won the league by 10 points. It'd be boring to win that easily again - we have to make it a little more exciting this season.

Not a good performance and fair play to hull they deserved it. Our worst show maybe since Swansea away in 2014.In spite being below par we could have got a result

I know David Meylers dad fairly well and he goes over for every game every weekend so wont begrudge him that.

Understanable when you consider the euphoria of the last 3 to 4 months.  It's been exhausting for us fans. Cant imagine what it's like for the squad and management right at the centre of attention worldwide.

Our new signings didnt impress all that much but like many of our greats they had somewhat indifferent starts here so let's give them a chance and time to get settled in.

Disapointing but we have have gladly taken this 12 months ago all things considered. Lets move on.

I think not starting Okazaki was key, as we was missing that tenacious link in-between midfield and attack. Vardy has not had as much game time to regain his form and fitness, and also the partnership with Musa may take a while to get up to top standard. But the potential is definitely there.

In midfield, we are missing that Kante type player the squad has got so used to having round, Mendy was unavailable, and King & DD are not the most compatible duo. Not too much we could of done, apart from probably start Amartey.

In defence, we are missing Huth, who Wes has a great partnership with. We didn't look great from set pieces and no doubt this will be improved upon on the training field.

The lack of pre-season games and the travelling wouldn't of helped. Hull had the crowd behind them, had the mentality we had last season, being written off but wanted to prove themselves.

Its unfortunate, but not the end of the world. A few games time and we will be seeing some magical moments on the pitch again.

I think you are confusing me sharing an opinion on a forum, with not supporting the team. They are two different things entirely. Here I think it reasonable to offer an opinion whether it fits with the 'must be positive vibe'  or not. As a fan on match day I will only be supportive towards our players.
