Hes got all the potential, I'm yet to see much of it.
Callabinho Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 The more I think about it the more angry I get...Hull city......**** me.

They also made sure there was no space over the top of their defence for Vardy to work in. Instead of thinking we are Billy Big Bollox travelling half way round the world, it should have been a normal pre-season. Vardy hardly played before today's game. Passing was also woeful. Only Okazaki comes out of it with any credit. I was complacent today, perhaps the team was too. CR won't stand for that going forward. He needs to have a word with himself though. Kingy is a squad player now and we shouldn't be starting with him. If we are then we need to strengthen midfield. Waz should have played to allow Hernandez to experience a premier League game from the bench first before being thrown in. Huth comes straight back in. Morgan played like he did pre Huth. This is how poor we were; it reminded me of Iceland v England; corners not clearing the first defender; crosses flying over everyone's head. Even the penalty was a very lucky break - outside the box. I don't expect a season like last, and neither does CR, but he and I do expect fight. I'm disappointed simply because we know we are so much better. Draw a line under and onwards and upwards. There wast no balls from drinkwater over the top, so that wasn't a issue they had to overcome
NewEnglandFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 What I said in the pre-match thread still holds true.
pazzerfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 It's not the defeat that bothers me...it's the manner of the defeat!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 If you think Gray had a good game today you should terminate your account on this forum, (as you know nothing about football) burn your Leicester shirts (providing you're rich enough to buy one) and go and watch a different sport, maybe something like dressage or bowls.
GazzinderFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 This may have been mentioned already, apologies if it has, but was 4 friendlies in 4 different countries really the best prep for this game?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I understand people's frustration because if we had just got promoted and lost that we would be worried...
Gazza M Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Having attended todays match, these are my observations: 1) We still need two defenders. RB and CB. Hernandez has a lot to work on, Morgan looked lost without Huth. 2) We need a physical presence up front. Musa and Vardy didn't work. 3) We need 3 central midfield players to offer protection to defence. 4) We have had a shocking preparation for the season. We were slow and lethargic. No more pathetic pre-season cups.

Sindidragon Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We need to replace our missing engine who was Kante
daddylonglegs Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 that was comfortably the worst I've seen us play since Barnsley away. Misplaced so many 5 yard passes. Obviously a frustrating result. Positives were fullbacks and Gray look promising. Shinji obviously should have started and changed the game. the most annoying thing about today is Schmeichel. The mans on 100k a week and isn't worth 100 quid a week. Im so bored of people giving him loads of praise after he has bang average performances. He was directly at fault for both goals today (amongst others) and then went on to blame everyone else. He's got to be in the top 5 paid players in his position in the world, and he's not even in the top 50 in terms of ability!

I don't know whether you're taking the piss or not. He ran with the ball which immediately made him better than King, Amartey and co. He won a penalty. Give the guy a break.
ousefox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I thought Gray was one of the better players too.

I don't think we had a player show more determination than Gray in the first half. I'm less concerned with his end product than his effort. He was tracking further up and down the field than anyone else and always was trying to get the ball forward. That's more than can be said about many of our other players.

Was he that bad?? Oh shit maybe it was the two jager bombs before hand,
biggs Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Many lessons will be learned from this defeat and how Ranieri responds will be important going into the next couple of games. We will bounce back and will take some humility for the low energy level which was never a factor last year. The lack of fighting spirit was evident throughout save a couple of players. End this and we'll be back on track.

I'm yet to see him run with REAL purpose, play the ball off at the right time in a give and go, and get through. I keep reading Gray was excellent blah do blah...personally I can't see it yet.

He has promise but today he was a liability defensively although he wasn't the only one. Next week Albrighton, Huth, Mendy and Okazaki back in!! Gray, King, Hernandez and Musa to the bench plus hopefully Schluppy stays....Mahrez will be under pressure with more performances like today.....celebrated the goal with his team mates no celebration with the fans....I think he Is genuinely battling with the dilemma of forcing a move....pity because he is not anything like the Riyad we need
Sammy Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Had my shirt nicked before I sat down, then heard Musa's on fire, then the guys next to me started singing "champions of england, you'll never singing that" as if Chelsea didn't sing it at us last season. Top it all off we were abysmal against a Hull team who to be fair played well, not had a good day
foxfanazer Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 So disappointed with the performance today. Hoping its more of a fitness issue rather than the quality of the player. Hernandez looked out of his depth and for me it highlights our need for an energetic centre with a bit of pace. Also I love Andy King but theres no way we can play a midfield two of him and Drinky. Praying Mendy impresses! As for Kasper he needs to learn to weigh up his options sometimes, yes he created a few counter attacks last season but he definitely cost us with that rash throw today Certainly no time to panic but we must improve tenfold from todays performance
foxinsox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 The team ethic wasn't there and multiple poor performances. Generally sluggish and not sharp enough to take on a combatative Hull. Shinji and Vardy to start next week, with Musa on second half please.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Not good, no, and a shocking display, but for heaven's sake, it's only the first match, and losing Kante has made things much more difficult.
