StanSP Posted 6 September 2016 Posted 6 September 2016 Not sure there's a thread for the younger England team around. Currently thrashing Norway 4-1 in a qualifier for European Championships next year. Rahsford performing very well. Norwegian defenders can't keep up with his pace. And his finishing is sublime. Another youngster that has bags of talent but I hope that once he's in the senior side regularly that we don't fvck him up Gray would love this game - so much space in behind but Redmond has done well too.
StanSP Posted 6 September 2016 Author Posted 6 September 2016 Commentators just said that Rashford has scored on his Man Utd debut, his league debut for Man Utd, his England debut and he's now just scored a hat-trick on his U21 debut. Some going, that!
Matt Posted 6 September 2016 Posted 6 September 2016 Ok, so i'm don't wanna make this into a similar debate of how aren't Drinkwater/Vardy being picked for the senior team, but i'm sorry, I defy to believe that there are many better English players U21 than Demarai Gray (In that position). I'm so excited about the prospect of Gray, once again i'm bias, but he should starting, definetly. Similarly, I don't wanna make it into big club/smaller club debate, but if Gray was at a bigger club media would be creaming themselves over him.
purpleronnie Posted 6 September 2016 Posted 6 September 2016 I'd rather have Rashford on his own up front for the senior team that Kane that's for damn sure.

I don't disagree with Southgate choosing Redmond to play but I have no idea how Lewis Baker started over him. Gray's coming on now though.
Dan Posted 6 September 2016 Posted 6 September 2016 Rotation at U21 level is fine by me. Important that players prove themselves at that level though. I'd keep Rashford there for a while instead of rushing him and putting far too much pressure on a player of his age. It's alright throwing kids into the equation if you accept that they are kids and they're probably not going to work miracles straight away. I do like Rashford a lot though, I think he could go very far in the game, would be a shame to rush him though.
Wymsey Posted 6 September 2016 Posted 6 September 2016 How refreshing. Sure sponsors not choosing some of under-21 team, as all have been up for it.

IoI wut I like the lad but he looked pony against Hull. Had the touch of a rapist that day and showed he has work to do to be better than Redmond.

Redmond has a lot more experience. Gray will get there. I'd say that ability wise he's already ahead of Redmond.
