J.Lisemore Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 If Drinky wanted the deal to go through, then it would. This is obviously a non story but a 30m transfer fee is nothing to our owners nowadays, there's no way we'd sell for that unless he really did want to leave.

I don't agree completely drinky is as important (probably more) to us as Riyad. We have no 'ready replacement' for either. Both are contracted long term and just as we refused to allow Riyad to leave unless someone came up with the dosh, the same is true with Danny. If if he told the club he wanted to go to yanited, he would be told '£55 m or you stay' and the deal needs agreeing early jan - and it will only go through before the deadline if we get a replacement in'. I expect we would accept 50m

I'm sure there would be negotiations on prices but if a player wants to leave, more often than not they get their wish. I doubt we'd get more than 40for Drinkwater. I know he'a English and all that but we did see Kante go for 32.

Deeney stayed at watford Keane stayed at burnley silva stayed at sporting payet stayed at west ham on long contracts, clubs can afford to demand big fees or 'feck off'

I think he's done that over the past two years. He, and most of the other players, seems very happy. Frankly, the players who came up through other clubs know how different the locker room is in Leicester. The European players, less so: Kante is learning Leicester was not the typical club environment in the Premier League. If LCFC is in Europe or contending for a Top 6 spot in January, I don't expect anyone to leave, except marginal players wanting more playing time.
st albans fox Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 If there is any truth in the rumour then drinks needs to get his ear lobes protected for when vichai grabs them!!

Manwell Pablo Posted 22 September 2016 Posted 22 September 2016 Why are you lot even discussing this. Do you not find it odd this "rumor" has surfaced about 5 days before we play them.

Not really, I think it's quite typical of Jose/Man Ure mind games, doubt there is a shred of truth to it, it's all about the timing and clearly, we have them more than a little worried.
