We were so bad even Pogba scored...

But thank you to all the sensible forum posters for reasoned, and non-hysterical comments about this seasons expectations. I was going to post yesterday with a 'should we be worried about the amount of goals we're conceding', but thought it was a bit negative.

I was was going to post the same thing at about 1 o'clock this afternoon!

and was feeling pretty gutted, tbh.

The 'will we be relagated' post had some good comments regarding the fact that we are a decent team with some weak points. We will be fine, but we're not anywhere the levels of last year.

So be it.

I would rather finish 1st and then 12th than have 2 top 6 finishes. Any day of the week. When I feel like I did after today's result and getting gubbed by a bang-average United team, I just think back to the Everton game last season, the trophy presentation and the giddy, euphoric early summer feel-good feeling that was experienced (all the way up until the Hull game)!

Things I didn't have on my wall this time last year - Jay Connelly portrait picture of PL champions and a signed shirt of the 2015/16 PL champions...(and a clapper!)

Not too sure what my point is - perspective, I suppose. Already had some really crappy results and poor performances - but onwards and upwards. It's ok to have a moan and grumble, but the team have enough goodwill in the bank for a little while yet.

I knew Pogba would score. I said it walking into the ground. If any player needs a bit of form just play against us.

He, and their midfield, were a class above ours.

Pogba showed serious signs that he has the potential to justify the price tag ....one day

but I'll say this Danny Drinkwater did well and Jose will have liked what he saw from him

if united come calling he will go back to them , they are his team

It'd a shame that we have so many consecutive tough away games at the start of the season. Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Tottenham all consecutive away games in the league. I really hope we don't go into Chelsea with a 4-4-2

We have glaring holes in central midfield that needs to be fixed but I'm not sure how - and we need to get organised at the back again, which is easier to fix.

Every time I've felt down this season I think back to Man City away, Hazard vs Spurs, Ranieri's tears at Sunderland, Andrea Bocelli and that little moment Wes had to himself before lifting the trophy and think what the **** does it matter, we could finish bottom and do a derby and we'll still always have last season

On the plus side, hopefully Big Sam was watching and thought, 'so that's what you can do when you drop Rooney.'

Unfortunately, I think when Sam selects a team he first asks Wayne where he would like to play. Clearly way past his best and Utd so much better for dropping him.
