Get Big Sam In

Tin hat on, but here goes. This is genuine thoughts and a rational behind my thinking.

Thought Pearson was ace. His expertise was getting a strong group together, maybe not the best players, but a group who worked for each other and did well for each other. He worked on a tight budget, Steve Walsh weaved his magic and created a real tight group of up and coming players that were at the time nothing special but worked bloody hard and they wanted success for each other.

We did well even when we were bottom of the Premier League, we hardly played a poor game as these lads played out of their skins.

Ranieri came in, gave that solid group of lads a bit more freedom, some tactical changes and the rest is history.

Pearson was great for us at the time, then so was Ranieri, both did amazing for us. I doubt Ranieri could have done what Pearson did creating a solid group, and I doubt we could have won the league with Pearson. They were both special in their own ways and time.

Now the game game has changed and so has the players. Players like Morgan, Albrighton, Huth, Vardy, King, Simpson etc had a blip. The blip was that for a season and a half they played better than they ever have done as a team. Now the blip has gone and we are just now encountering us returning to the level that these players have played before.

We now have new players, but we don't have Pearson to create the solid group. We have pretty much average Joes, and we don't have Steve Walsh to buy another Knockaert and Mahrez.

What we quickly need to realise that we are returning to the level these players really were capable of. They are not world class, they are just average and may not be capable of keeping us in the league.

Reminds me of the days of ONeill then Taylor. Taylor could not manage the decline, and I am unsure whether the manager that helped us do so well is best placed to try and bring stability.

I think we need to set our goals at a realistic level. We are in a relegation battle, we have players that have gone back to the level they were used too and I think we should have a huge clear out and start again.

Drinkwater and Mahrez are two that look like they reached the top and can stay there. They clearly won't want to ply their trade at the lower reaches of the league or Championship.

I think we should wait until Christmas, and if results are no better look at a complete overhaul bringing in new players and a new manager.

We need to forget the past as it will only be a negative. We need different players for this situation as we no longer have that group set up under Pearson as he has gone.

We need to take the money for the big players, get Big Sam in who will know how to win battles and create a team capable of fighting for survival in this league.

You can harp on about the past, but Hull away, Watford away and Middlesbrough home are not blips. The season before that was a blip and we need to do something soon rather than continually think we are better than we are.

i remember the season we nearly went down. We played one and a half poor games that season because we had a solid group. I think Middlesbrough on Saturday was probably as bad as those two games (Swansea away and Man U away) that season and it is getting worse by the week.

Bury your head in the sand if you want, but in my view we need a massive clear out and start again as if last season didn't happen.

Big Sam for me late December and move as many on as possible and bring in others to stabilise it to stay up.
