China Black Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 This is the worst ever performance. An absolute disgrace to the status of Champions of England.
AlgerianFox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 only LCFC fans will remember the result against Porto. Everyone else will remember that LCFC was trough to the next stage and that they fielded an experimental team and that the result didn't count too much albeit no one expected such a heavy defeat (Ranieri included).
Steve Earle Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Lots of heavy defeats mentioned, and all were horrible in their way. Probably all of them were worse than last night which, painful as it was, demands to be seen in context. A much worse recent performance, against a poor team not a very good one, was at home to Shrewsbury in the League Cup, two seasons ago. I couldn't identify a single positive from that game, whereas last night we had Hamer looking as though he might push Zieler for #2, Mendy playing (not well admittedly) for 90 mins and Barnes showing energy and youthful promise. Oh, and best of all, Jeffrey proved conclusively that he should never be allowed in one of our match day squads again!

burleighfox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Most in the 2004-08 era were forgetful but Rotherham at home on Boxing Day 2004 was bad and I'll always remember the infamous "Levein out" chants away to Sheffield Wednesday in 2006 just after the FA Cup comeback against Spurs. We were a goal up early on and were poor from that moment on.
katieakita Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Nobody has thrown in any game when McLintock was manager and there were some absolute shockers as with Pleat,s tenure, last night for us was a dead rubber, players had the chance to stand up and put themselves up for a starting place in the prem, very few came out with anything positive last night but that was very much an experimental team up against a team that needed to win. Think the cheque book will be out in Jan.
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Well this is an easy competition, forest away lost 4-0 didn't manage a shot on target, Peterborough in the early nineties away lost 4-0 as huge favourites, and in these game we actually DID have something riding on it. If we're talking about worst performance ever by any team look no further than England v Iceland.... seriously though, yes the score line and performance was embarrassing but it was against a decent (comparatively) side who desperately needed the result , against one in poor form, giving several 'fringe players ' a game having already qualified. It seems as champions when the sh1t hits the fan and we revert to our average at best selves, some really do lose perspective... How about our 13-0 record defeat against forest?
murphy Posted 9 December 2016 Posted 9 December 2016 Sheff utd 0-2 and the 'F... off Martin O'Neill' chants - You know who you are! 0-4 at Stamford Bridge. Two down after ten minutes and the girl in the next seat to mine never looked up from her magazine again, but number one is Bolton 0-5. After being somehow top of the league in October the team fell apart after the Wycombe game and finished about 14th. First day of the following season we get outclassed by Bolton at home. At that moment I knew we were going down with 37 games left to play.

tomtom Posted 9 December 2016 Posted 9 December 2016 6 - 0 down at half time against Newcastle was pretty spectacular ! Final result 7-1. we kept singing all game though
LAprice_ Posted 9 December 2016 Posted 9 December 2016 Weak, out-of-form, nothing to play for, lacklustre Leicester team getting thrashed by a very good Porto side with everything the play for... I'm by no means trying to excuse our players - they were well and truly awful - but it would be a bit out of place to call it our worst game ever.
