Time was when we actually cared about policies in this country, now all the Tories want to do is deflect from their own failings by criticising people's personalities. Sad. Why do you think it is that labour are not polling a clear lead whilst the tories are so terrible at the moment? Why cant they take advantage?

I think corbyn on his own is fine and i think he would be clearly in front, if it wasnt for the unpleasant (at least seemingly) dangerous and aggressive disciple following he attracts. I think it can be quite off putting for someone that only half agrees with him/them.

In all honesty the Conservative Party should be 20 points ahead.

Guest Posted 3 May 2018 Posted 3 May 2018 (edited) I'm going to leave this here. It's an interesting read by Varoufakis. I'm not asking you to fall in love with Marxism but it is just interesting to see what a Marxist actually believes in. Kopf - could you save your opinion of this for later? It's absolutely valid for you to give an opinion but, with all due respect, you're taken very seriously in certain quarters (those with which you have a natural affinity) despite just being an undergraduate. I'm keen to explore what happens when people on the right are exposed to the arguments that varafoukis puts forward, without looking for a way out and resorting to parroting arguments from a tame student - which is what will happen otherwise. Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell and Dianne Abbott supported the aims of the IRA, while they were still bombing British people, and will form the next government. Personally I love it but anyone who isn’t a leftist should find the current Conservative leadership unacceptable given that Marxists are going to win a general election.

They shouldn’t unless your part of the proletariat. But if you’re wealth is derived from stealing what others produce you should be very scared of John McDonnell he makes Stalin look like a ****ing anarchist.
