If all our players were top 6 quality we'd be in the top 6, they aren't and we won't be. Unless the owners decide to invest 100's of millions we are never going to be regularly.

 

You need to accept that and accept that some of our players aren't going to match up with the most expensive teams in the world otherwise you are going to be constantly disappointed.

I don't disagree with this, save for the point that we could do more by investing 100s of millions.  We don't need any more money.  The barrier to recruitment is attracting star players to Leicester City, rather than the biggest clubs in Europe.

And you break that barrier by paying silly money. Look at City and Chelsea, they had to waste shed loads to be seen as serious, took years before they could attract the best that weren't just mercenaries. 

 

I dont want that route anyway.

The great escape season is pretty much littered with myth and legend. 

Somehow, we turned it around and started scoring goals to be able to stay up. If we hadn't have had that epiphany, the season would have been remembered as one of the worst in recent memory, in which we couldn't buy a win for months and for which relegation looked nailed on actually by about Christmas.

James (and of course Esteban) were pretty much ever present in a 4-4-2 that could neither shut up shop, nor create many chances. 

Getting Huth fit, changing the formation and finally having some belief was what saved us.

7 games aside, it was an awful season. Looking back on it with some sort of fondness (except the miracle of staying up), is to be taking a set of glasses and tinting them VERY blue.

Just think it's too early to write him off. He's been out for bloody ages and hasn't played at this pace of football in two years. Willing to give him longer than 3 games.

I thought that's a massive contract but then it took me a while to realise that's a four year contract and its 2017 I still feel it's 2013 ffs
