James signs new contract

This is a joke.  A very unfunny one.  But a joke.

Shakespeare talks about qualifying for Europe and then signs up Championship players.  Your job is to manage the team. Not to be the players friend and show loyalty to players based on length of service even though they clearly have nothing to offer at this level.

Christ, we were linked with the likes of Sigurdsson and Silva and we end up with Matty f'n James.

And don't even start with how great he was 3 SEASONS AGO because he wasn't great.  And we've won a Premier League since then and supposedly have European ambitions.  He is not good enough.

Seriously regretting hiring Shakespeare now.  No wonder Mahrez wants to leave. And Drinkwater should do absolutely everything he can now to push through that move to Chelsea.

Keep to the cubs, foxes are a step too far for yus.

We are Leicester City. Not Liverpool or Arsenal. Some people need to remember that when they slate players that have served us faithfully and to a good standard.

Before his injury James was regarded more highly than DD but it appears memories are short and throw in a freak unexpected title win it also distorts reality and expectations too.

This is good news because it means if James does kick on we've secured the services of a good player and even if he doesn't it means we can command a good fee if we decide to sell.

Dog shit again today

Thought Ndidi was worse than him today. I didn't think James was that bad.

We were up against the 2017/18 Premier League champions tbf.

Do you own a Delorean then?

He was fine first half, second half though I'd have to say he was pretty poor. Whether that's fitness or lack of prem game time I don't know but he was running into trouble a lot and far to many wayward passes. Flagging badly towards the end.

He was up against a top notch midfield today and we were always going to get overrun in the middle so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt today. Need to improve quickly though if Drinky is off.

Agree. And yet again against a top side.

He gets overrun so easily and can't cope. There was one point where he lost the ball and then couldn't get back to defend.

He'll always look okay against average sides like Brighton but games like Manchester United we need something else in midfield.

There's very little difference between Drinky and James ability wise. If you think there is then I can only assume you don't watch many of our games.

There is a huge difference when Drinkwater is on form. I'd rather sell James for £5m than Drinkwater for £30m.

You're a clown son.

I agree with these comments. James unfortunately isn't the standard of player that we need to improve the squad.

Barnsley is hardly a standard we need to achieve. Why wouldn't any other aspiring championship club or any club battling relegation in the prem show any interest in his services?

i don't think he had a good game today. He gave the ball away a lot and never really imposed himself on the game.

i see him nowhere near the standard of Matic , Kante, Fernandinho etc

i may be wrong but Iborra looks to have more potential and a better option than 'matty' James

No. But I agree with every word that baronfox said.

James showed at Old Trafford and The Emirates why he should not be a member of our first team squad.

Oh (and I accept that this may be beyond you), instead of simply calling me a clown, how about you offer reasons why you disagree with my opinion(s).  But as I said, this may be beyond you.

Thanks for the advice mate.  But I've been a fan of Leicester City for 32 years so I won't stop now.

You're not a poster I take seriously or can be bothered to reason with since your only contributions to this site are vitriol towards Matt James.

But you do feel the need to respond with insults and xenophobic comments.  OK mate that's cool.

Don't see it myself. I think Drinky is a great player and I think james can get back to that level. I'd rather not sell either of them. Shakey agrees with me I guess.

You're looking like a berk suggesting anything more, I'm afraid.

Tell you what, reply with a Cattermole comment again.

James is a plodder.

Shall we look through your comments about him in the last fortnight. Your nickname used to be flip flop for a reason! Laughable

Jesus Christ... are you a parody account or something? Imagine judging squad players on visits to two of the hardest grounds you are ever likely to visit.

Midfield gets overrun by the best midfield in the league... shock! Why do people feel the need to write players off so quickly

No I'm not a parody account.  I'm a lifelong Leicester City fan who wants the best for my club.

Great news imo

I'm really pleased he's battled his way back after serious injury however he is a squad player at best. Gives the ball away far too often and seems to have lost some pace... or has the game got too quick for him? His agent has played a blinder here. If Drinky does go we need an upgrade and not rely on the likes of James and King if we continue 4-4-2. Not seen Iborra yet but from reports he's better suited to a 3-5-2.
