DelBoy73 Posted 13 September 2017 Posted 13 September 2017 After the mediocre season he had, £35M looks like a hell of a good business. Sure being only 27, he is still young enough for Chelsea to get five more quality years out of him; but i have the feeling he peaked three seasons ago and is only declining from now on. Anyway, Drinkwater fulfilling the homegrown quota must have been the major motivation behind Chelsea's decision to sign him.

Wouldn't really expect him to be in one of the world's top teams just a week after arriving, having not trained much with the team and being short on match fitness. You lot can use your hate to create a new storyline for him but I'm happy he was a Leicester footballer and I wish him only the best. He'll be controlling that Chelsea midfield soon. Don't disagree that he is great on his day but he will not be controlling that midfield with Kante and Bakayoko ahead of him.

Vlad the Fox Posted 14 September 2017 Posted 14 September 2017 He should focus more on his football and not his bloody farm.

Matt Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 Out until October. (Not that far away) --------------------------------------- Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has suffered a calf injury and will not make his Blues debut until October. The England international, 27, moved to Stamford Bridge from Leicester on transfer deadline day for £35m. Drinkwater was an unused substitute in the 2-1 victory over his former club last Saturday and and missed Tuesday's Champions League thrashing of Qarabag. "He had a muscular problem in his calf. He needs time to recover," said manager Antonio Conte. "I think it is very difficult to see him before the international break. It is a pity because he was starting to work and to improve his physical condition. "Now we have to move all these situations. And in two, three weeks, four weeks, I don't know." --------------------------------------- Looks like it's not just us who sign injured players then... Also looks like he didn't have transferitus (Although it was a thigh injury here wasn't it?)
