Help a Fellow Football Fan

Alright everyone, I've not been around here for a while due to changing jobs (again) and not really having time, but I'm making a point of coming back on today to ask for the wider football communities help.

A very good friend of mine and a massive football man who has played for, still plays, and has run clubs in the south of the county (mainly Lutterworth Athletic and Broughton Astley), has suffered a horrific set back in life after his entire house effecrively burnt down on Sunday night in lutterworth and he has lost litterally everything.

On the off chance anyone can help us reach our target to help get him back on his feet, it would be hugely appreciated. There's a just giving link below if anyone can spare anything. Or if there are material goods you no longer need which might be helpful, drop me a message. Or any local businesses who you think may be able to donate any raffle prizes etc. We are trying to organize a huge football tournament which will be more than likely be at the Lutterworth Athletic football ground in the coming weeks. I'll confirm on here when it's sorted if anyone wants to enter a team or just come down for drinks and buy a raffle ticket.

Sorry for scrounging, but it's worth a try and I know how the football community can come together sometimes.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Ali.

He's spent the last few days trying to go through all the things like that, but until the fire inspection report is completed, we don't know precisely what the cause was etc so I imagine the insurance will wait until that's completed. He's mainly just keeping his head down with family at the moment and trying to sort things out, so most of us are giving him space for now really, but thought I'd at least try here to see if anyone can help. If people can't etc, it's totally understandable, but worth a try.

Appreciate that strokes, top man!

I've got a used fridge/freezer if that's if any use. He'd have to arrange collection from Wigston Fields

I was just asking because its a relatively small target on just giving but your post didnt imply it either way. Anyway i hope the family get through it as painless as possible and im sure they will appreciate the support.

It could be of use. I won't know properly until this week gets out of the way of imagine, but if it's needed, collection won't be a problem as I've got a couple of mates with vans. Appreciate it Davie. Though if you've already got a plan for scrapping it, don't let me stand in your way, there'll be other opportunities and ways we can hell him.

Yea I thought that too. One of the guys set it up yesterday in a bit of a quick tizz when it all really started to come to light, but if/when we surpass it, then so be it. Thanks for kind words, I'm positive he'll appreciate the help as much as I do!

No real rush i'll hang on to it for a few days, if it's wanted I'll donate the £20 I'd have to pay to have it taken away.

Cheers Davie, when I know, I'll let you know, but won't keep you waiting too long if possible. We he needs it and we come to get it, that'd be brilliant. Much appreciated mate.

Off the top of my head I've got a spare vacuum cleaner, a spare set of digital cordless phones if anyone still uses them and a spare sky box if any of them may be useful? I'd be happy to donate them and anything else I can think of, just let me know ? I've also got a tumble dryer for sale on Gumtree at present, but would donate it too if it would help. I've also got loads of nearly new spare bedding and towels and stuff, depends what they need really. DM me if you like. I'm in Wigston but could drop stuff off in Lutterworth no problem.

If he wants a 3 seater sofa that has a slight bow in the arm and cushions a little flat he's more than welcome to collect it from my garage.

PM me if interested as I am trying to get rid of it. Fabric is in great condition (it even has the fire tags).

I need to get back to work now, but thank you all for your thoughts and offers so far. I'll speak to the others involved in helping and see what's needed most right now etc. I'm sure most things will be accepted and I'll update and speak to you all about it when I know more. Until then, thank you all once more, bless the lot of you!

I've got a 32" Toshiba TV.  It's about 10 years old but still works perfectly fine - except you can't change the volume on the remote control.  I'm in Lutterworth a couple of times a week, so no problem dropping off
