I think you’re missing the point, it’s not about the price it’s donating to the British Legion. I would never just hand over £1:50 for a poppy, let alone an enamel one.

Fair play for raising attention to a great cause but perhaps no need to sound disgusted and snotty at somebody for what they contributed.

Wind your neck back in, I wasn’t disgusted or snotty in my post, when the enamel ones first came out they asked for a minimum donation, most people throw a quid in for a paper one, a lot of the RBL poppy sellers ask for £3 or £4 minimum for an enamel poppy. Besides which the reason you wear one is to remember the fallen that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Couldn't be arsed to waste my Friday night arguing with stupid so thought i'ld leave you get on with pulling your head out your arse.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 3 November 2017 Posted 3 November 2017 I'd prefer to just put a bit more money in a donation tin. Buying a fancy Poppy doesn't mean more money gets donated, it just means you're buying a fancy Poppy and making profit for some company.

If you buy directly from the royal British Legion poppy shop website you have the option of adding an extra donation. I like this year's badge and put more money in the tin so win win in my book.
