Is it really any worse than Leicester?

We'd have been slated too, if we'd been given the same title.

There is literally no place on earth that won't be called a shithole by somebody on here.

Surely not this place?

Uppingham?

Terrible place. I remember when the local Waitrose's ran out of polenta. It wasn't safe to walk the streets at night.

I heard there had been an earthquake in Coventry.

Apparently, it caused several million pounds worth of improvements.

Well known they give it to shitholes to get investment in these pits. Leicester was on the list at some point, which highlights how bad Leicester is.

But Coventry is desperate, so it’s good they have been given something to help it.

The unfortunate thing for Coventry was the rebuilding after the bombing, it took an awful shelling and the rebuild was so dreadful it created probably the worst town centre you could imagine.

I am pleased for them, they need the money, got nothing against the folk there and I just hope this award could give them something to build on.

You could blame the Germans for bombing the hell out of it, but I blame the planners for creating the most soulless town centre out of the rubble. It really needs knocking down and starting again, this time with a bit of thought.

At least they can blame the war where as our city centre was destroyed by 60s modernists
