He wont always start for man city either.

I'm fairly certain that he'll put Sterling on the bench. As much as the latter improved in his positioning and game reading, he doesn't have half of Mahrez's skills and footballing brain.

Edit: You're right though, as Guardiola will make his team according to the opponent.

No player likes to be subbed off, some just don't show it.

Can see the better wages as some sort of consolation.

Understandable but he also makes a boat load of cash to not be sulky:) but that can apply to many  players not just him.

I gather he's agitating for a move away from Man City already - kind of like a pre nup.

Lol.

Lets just give him a new contract for 4 years (lock him up with 100 mill buyout) and call it a day. Move on already. Taking too long for this

We brought now Roberts in the deal so no wonder discussions have stalled.

We're going to sell him, there is just no way he's staying one more season or sign any new contract. Player wants out and will get out.

Discussions have been going on since the start of the year, and that includes Roberts as part of the package.

That was true for January.

There was nothing that suggested that Roberts would be part of the deal in the current negociations. Every rumor about that was dismissed.

Agreement seemed to 60M+add-ons. How much we don't know. That's what filtered from the news (and I'm not talking about the sun) and the itks (both ManCity's and ours)

Well, you were the one suggesting that discussions have stalled because of Roberts, which has been the case since January. Manchester City were the ones who brought him up first.

Difference then was that we didn't want to let go of Mahrez in January already, with us competing with Burnley and Everton for 7th spot. That reason has now fallen away.

The reports of a possible inclusion of Roberts as part of the deal have re-emerged in the press as early as May, with the Mercury being one of the last news outlets to report on it.

All in all, nothing new on that front.

Only difference is the overall transfer fee.

I knew I should've written "might have stalled" to avoid you someone jumping at me.

It's what I think, basing on what I read from both sides. It seemed to be a done deal to be announced the last week-end with no other player involved. Then Roberts suddenly (re)appears in the negociations.

So yeah, of course it might be nothing or a reason why the deal is taking so long.

Like I said, it's been going on since January. We've picked up where we've left off and now it's all about the devil in the details.

However, there's still the slight option of him staying for yet another year if the deal should fall through (and us failing to secure the services of another high-profile right midfielder/winger).

It's a possibility but I honestly can't see it happening. There will be bids for him should the deal fall through.

This story has dragged on for too long anyway, we would look bad from an outsider position and the atmosphere would be toxic in the dressing room.

The january disaster was enough, he has to go.

When he goes, will you be switching your allegiance with him? Genuine question.

Tired of this question. One can love Mahrez without being algerian, you know?

Yes I understand that as I love Mahrez too. But are you a Mahrez fan or a genuine Leicester supporter?

I do read your posts and they are generally well informed but very often about Mahrez, hence my question. Thanks for your replies.

You'll see me here long after he's gone.

The only reason I would disappear from this forum is that I've been permanently banned since the mods here warned me that I'm only one argument away from it.
