Good luck Bob, I’m well off with my training atm and if probably struggle to be ready even if I had the time. I’ll sign up for London again for next year. I think the ballot is open on Monday iirc.

Is that the one that finishes inside Pride Park? I was handed a leaflet about that one once and informed them of my displeasure.

Would be great if the Leicester half/full incorporated the Welford Road and Filbert Way. I did one in London once which went around Saracens ground and finished inside Wembley and it made the run that much more enjoyable.

Yeah I did silverstone race track and I loved it, knowing all the turns and finishing to a chequered flag was fun.

I've thought about doing that one in the past, read a tweet during the London Marathon about some woman who almost ran Katie Price over twice when she arrived late for the Silverstone Half. She might have actually completed that one!

It’s a strange one, because there are many parts of it where there are no crowds so unless you appreciate the track itself you might get a bit bored.

Out of interest, where's the other half going to be?

Seriously, all the best, just back from the gym and 4km on the treadmill in 30 mins has killed me.

I'm doing the Wollaton 10km next month as training for Leicester half marathon.

Done about 15 now I reckon with last year's time being my best(sub1.47).

Good luck with yours....what time you aiming for?

This is my first half marathon for about 30 years (not even joking) so a very ploddy time of 2 hours 10 or so would be ok I think

Good luck! Hopefully the weather is mild for you so you can enjoy it - I ran my first on the May Bank Holiday in Milton Keynes and the heat was horrible. 2:17 though, so plenty of room for improvement next time :)

Itching to do another now. I'm signing up for the Robin Hood half in September, and got a few smaller races before then (Swithland 6 on the same day as your Derby half). Hoping to train consistently through the summer and run sub2 in Nottingham.

Yes bud good advice and I know it is what I must concentrate on

i was just a bit “flat” with my run today, the times were slower than normal but the most irritating thing was I just didn’t feel right at all today

it will come slowly but surely and sometimes I need to listen to my body more in fairness
