Probably fair as he did seem to throw a few choice words at Dean but it’s not like he’s a bad character, he was probably just peed off at having to play right back and be in a one on one with Zaha

Or the fact that as much as it was a foul, Zaha was still 35 yards out from goal and it started as 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other. Then the fantastic consistency sees Creswell only get booked on Saturday. (unrelated I know but the point stands)

So Albrighton is charged and has to answer to the FA by 6pm last Thursday, he accepts the charge but it still takes the FA until 5pm on the following Tuesday to announce what the sanction is

2 extra games and a £25,000 fine does seem a bit excessive to me tho

Considering FIFA fined russia £22k for the chants their fans aimed at some French players, I'd say £25k for being annoyed at your sending off is a bit extreme

I think Mike Dean even reporting this says everything you need to know about the man. He could’ve had a quiet word with Albrighton or Puel after the match, maybe after watching the action replay and getting some perspective on Albrighton’s reaction. Instead he preferred to report Albrighton knowing full well he’d get banned for at least one game. Spiteful revenge by a petty referee who doesn’t appear to like us very much - like his colleague Jon Moss.

Different organisations; but what message does it send? Swearing at an official is deemed worse than racial chanting?
