just realised the irony in this comment is that Watford have actually done nothing since this 'special' day for them lollol

Remember they genuinely lost what would have been their biggest achievement two seasons later by going for a pitch invasion before the game had finished, then conceding to lose the title late on lol

So much karma happened in favour of us after this, especially with the match at Vicarage Road the next season where they cringeworthingly “re-created” the Deeney goal pre-match through their mascot with the commentary over the tannoy whilst deep down they were wondering what would’ve been for them not to have even had this fixture this season. Almunia went from penalty saving hero to humiliating zero by booting the ball into Wood’s face for the first goal, Knockaert scoring the second and Almunia could’ve done better with the third from Dyer too. In January we recruited the man who stopped Watford going up in the play off final, Kevin Phillips, for a laugh and then at the KP later in the season,  in a game where at one point Knockaert beat about four players in one go with a series of tricks and turns, Drinkwater scored a screamer at the death to get a 2-2 just so Watford felt a fraction of the last minute pain we felt that day. We then got to kind of experience the joy they felt (albeit not against Watford) during the great escape at Turf Moor when Vardy scored a minute after they missed a penalty where, unlike when Watford did it, it actually went on to be meaningful in the near future! This was because we still managed to get promoted a season before them! Oh and we also went on to win the Premier League just 3 years later so it worked out alright for us in the end!
