If we're being bullied then you could just as easily argue we are bullying other clubs ourselves. It's a fact of footballing life that there is a food chain within world football. Clubs know they can take any of our players (for the right money) just as we know we can take any of the Championship starlets (within reason and again for the right money).

You also can't blame players for wanting to progress through that food chain for both extra money and prestige.

I feel your frustration but to be fair Vardy stayed when he could have gone to Arsenal, Mahrez stayed two years longer than he may have and Kasper has been with us when had Liverpool signed him they'd be polishing a champions league trophy right now.

I hate to say it but I can just see Maguire in a Chelsea shirt becoming the real replacement for John Terry. I'd expect clubs to bid for Maguire, Ndidi, Kasper and possibly Vardy this summer, these clubs are only doing their job in trying to improve their squads.

What I do dislike is the medias role in becoming the fulcrum that allows an indirect ilegal approach i.e. "Chelsea are set to offer 28 million and a three year deal worth 140,000 a year" etc. The club aren't allowed to approach the player with this information but the press facilitate this stage by putting it in print. They also seem to want this upward funneling of talent with their salivating coverage particularly the Sky Sports news guys. If it were for the good of our sides chances in the Champions League I could perhaps understand their relishing of it but it actually just stockpiles players and results in players going to World Cups without being regular starters at club level.

I prefer it when I'm a neutral for as many clubs as possible to have star players, Shelvey at Newcastle, Shaqiri at Stoke, Zaha at Palace (OK I'm a hippocrite as I want us to poach him), back to Le Tissier at Southampton, I like to see every game have at least one top class act on each side.

With the Mahrez funds it really is time for us to bloody a nose or two and upset some fans of another club by taking a proven talent away (and perhaps we are already doing that to an extent) but we should not forget that each window that passes where we retain Vardy, Ndidi, Kasper and  Maguire represents a job well done too.

I think you've nailed it. I accept it's a part of football that clubs will sniff around our players (likewise we will to others) but I hate the way we, and not just us, are meant to basically bend over backwards for these bigger clubs as if we all owe them something for English football being the way it is. It makes me laugh how they talk up the Premier League as the most competitive league in the world yet effectively want to kill that competition.

All we can do is keep trying to buy these players, accept we will lose some of them (although absolutely try and squeeze every penny we can from the buyers) and gradually grow from the money we make. It's why we absolutely cannot be complacent in the transfer market and why we can't pay over the odds 'because we can'.

That Getafe defender for example, I quite like the look of him but did I really read twenty eight million? That is absurd. We won't progress if we overpay.

They want it to be competitive between six clubs. The rest of us are supporting acts.

Expand the stadium, build world class trading facilities and pay the wages, develop and retain talent, that's the way we make it to CL spot, patience is the key here, that's as long as we stay up this season.

Sorry if we have a thread for this already but seeing Kasper linked to Chelsea because they "may be" interested in him really is enough.

Since we won the League, all the "bigger" clubs have tried to bully us and have thus far, succeeded in dismantling the core of that team. In some cases, it was inevitable some would eventually move to pastures new, but the amount of times we have gone through unsettling periods since then as a club have had a detrimental effect on our ability to push on to the next level.

I really wish that they'd leave us alone now and I also hope Rudkin and Co are strong enough to say no more. We've got to stand up to this brow beating and prove to people we won't be pushed around any longer. I just hope I'm not the only one who feels like this.

If only Hull just said that to us before we bought Maguire, or Norwich said, "go away, leave us alone, you bullies" before we bought Maddison.

It's quite bizarre to only have a problem when big clubs come for our players but not when we poach from other clubs. I get that it's frustrating and that we face serious setbacks when our players are poached, but we have to keep grinding it out. The big boys aren't just going to lie down and let Leicester CIty continue to disrupt the order that's suited them so well.

I'll also add that the players are contracted athletes, not indentured servants. If a reasonable offer comes in that makes sense for all parties, a player should not be held here against his will.

Can't stress this enough. This concept has flown over the head of many fans.
