Amid the doom and gloom surrounding our arry potentially moving to united and no replacement for riyad as of yet, i have a huge feeling that we will be a real surprise package this season, and will surpass alot of the media and other footballing fans expectations.

Positives ive seen so far such as maddison looking lively in games and already set to be a fan favourite, players comes back from loan looking sharper, such as leo, kapustka, mendy, all looo like they will get a chance and have a point to prove.

Unless your really itk, no one knows whats going on behind the scenes transfer wise, i trust us to not have another silva episode and the remaining incomings will get done before anyone else moves on, aside from the deadwood we have who need to be shipped out.

losing maguire really isnt the end of the world, hes a big player for us and we are a better team with him, but hes not irreplaceable, so trust in the owners and rudders (to an extent) to get it right this summer.

Realistically i would love us to have a real go for a europa spot, and believe we have the team and the manager to do it, puel has a vision and its clear hes sticking to it, especially with giving the youth a chance, i reckon hes going to prove alot of doubters wrong this season.

Whatever happens though, its never boring being a citeh fan is it

I don't think the media would predict anything other than top 10 for us. Again, outside the top 6 it's us, Everton, West Ham, Wolves and Southampton. The media will be looking at the likes of Cardiff, Huddersfield, Brighton, Watford etc for a disappointing season.

We'll be alright again.

I'm a bit baffled by what the panic is all about. Even Maguire goes and we find no Mahrez replacement we'll still be fine.

Maybe.

None of us are clairvoyant (I suspect) but a quick gander at our squad makes me think we’ll end up mid to lower table.

I think we’ll have enough to avoid a relegation battle, as we’ll win sufficiently at home. But I don’t imagine we look to have the quality to make Europe either.

As I’ve said before, I just hope for some good, attacking football and some clear tactical direction.

There are some concerns... I can’t get my head around the probability we’ll be starting the season with Morgan still at CB. But on the plus side, I can see Kelechi scoring a few this season if he gets played enough and I’m expecting good things from Chillers.

Swings and roundabouts.  Mid table mediocrity I reckon.

I think we'll have a much more measured season due to our possession based football rather than lumping it forward for Vardy to get onto and score.

This might be problematic for Vardy  as his pace to get behind is his best asset. On the plus side we shouldn't be chasing the ball so much which will be a bonus allowing us to conserve energy to catch teams late in the games.  I expect us to be stronger in both boxes, conceding less especially from set plays and scoring more from set plays ourselves. Maddison to also chip in with a few free kicks.

Overall there's a better balance to the team now than before, the question is do they have the quality to penetrate teams.

For me the key area is going to be midfield, Can we stop Teams getting at our back four. I'm not sure we have enough strength in there. Plenty of ability but the strength to deal with the big physical midfielders others have. That's where I think we might struggle.

Up top it's difficult to see where Goals are going to come from consistently. If Vardy can't adjust quickly enough to a different style and Kelechi doesn't up his ratio then we could be in trouble. I see a lot of low scoring games with the way we will be setting up, As I don't see Gray or Diabate scoring any more than single figures.

The one big improvement is Maddison who is going to be a big key player for us.  I don't see us cracking top 6 unless we either find a way to get Slimani or Musa into the Team or sign a good striker in January. I have a lot of faith in Puel to sort it out provided he's given the time. I also see us having a good cup run with a little luck in the draw, as we will be harder to score against.

With our current squad it's hard to see us higher than mid table 8, 9,10. As West Ham Everton and Wolves have shown serious intent.

Funnily the team I think will struggle a little this season is Spurs, I don't see them doing as well as last season, As i don't see Kane scoring as many for them and they depend so much on him. I see them in and around 4 to 8th.

All in all it's a new season which I can't wait to get started and right now I'd take a draw against Utd.

Upwards and Onwards we go.

This place has me feeling like it’s alresdy mid season and we’re flirting with relegation. We’ve replaced Simpson which has been call for by the fans for ages, we’ve got in a centre back to take the strain off of Morgan and we’ve signed one of the most exciting English talents. I agree we need one or two more but the window hasn’t closed yet so save the bed wetting until it slams shut

This is all true and proportional.

What is also true and proportional is that we have a manager that plays a turgid brand of bland shot on target-less final third-less boredom-ball.

Just sayin.

Fair enough. I just don’t see the point in it constantly being repeated before we’ve kicked a ball in a competitive game. If it is the case then he’ll be gone and we can start slagging off the new manager after a few months

Sure. Though I won't be slagging off any new manager after a few months unless its justified.

I was never keen on this appointment but got behind the sentiment of it and gave it a chance. I continued to support despite the 20 games of dire mediocrity not being offset by the final few and continue to support even now in the respect of the manager being given a transfer window and a pre-season as I have always suggested with every manager. What I can't do is forget that last season happened and assume that everything will be brilliant now and skip blindly into the stadium singing 'We love you Puely' This is his chance to prove that he can take his opportunity and deliver because he'll be getting no more from me or anybody else if style and results don't improve before October.

That’s my point though, he ain’t getting that from the majority on here. I just hate the idea of going into a new season with a doom and gloom attitude surrounding the club. Each to their own I guess but I feel it’s more fair to judge him now he’s brought in at least a couple of his own players

Its worse than doom and gloom as you well know as a fan... We'll all pile in with hope (hope against ManU) and always remember, its the hope that kills you. lol

I have to repeat, thinking back tho those frustrating home draws in the New Year....so many chances were created, it wasn't dull, it was just incredibly difficult seeing the ball fail to go in. I really do think people conflate 'dull' with 'didn't win'...

It was dull and we didn't win and we didn't score. Happier now? lol

There were a few games where we created some good chances that we didn't convert but there were also so many halves of football without us registering a shot on target so 'loads of chances' really?

I'm thinking of 3 specific games - Swansea, Stoke and Bournemouth. The stats are there in black & white.

That's because they set out to frustrate us and we didn't have a player with the guile to create the chances.

Now we have Maddison and Silva hopefully doing that.

You're agreeing with me - it's Swan that is claiming there were no chances created.

While you're at it, go and look at those 3 games I cited.....chance after chance for many parts of those games.

It's a new season and a new slate so let's be positive. We have a real chance of nicking something off utd while Mourinho works out his team.

It's clear ( and I just don't understand it ) But the Club are not prepared to spend the Money on the Players who would virtually guarantee lifting us into the top 6. Instead we've gone for quantity with 31 pros in the hope of finding another Vardy / Mahrez. Crazy decision making by someone higher up. But we are where we are and haven't done too badly so it's hard to be too critical of others without all the facts.

Puel, who I respect as a Coach is introducing a new system for us to get used to ( holding the Ball )  even Ranieri realized we couldn't continue with the Gung Ho approach. we caught them all out in winning the league but that style was never going to work again.

Now we have a new beginning and a Manager who knows the way to get results against better teams. He may not be everyone's choice but he needs our support as do the players. The difference between us and the top 6 is the quality of the players not necessarily the Managers, As they're all good managers and know the game well.

With Puel's style I believe we can get more results against the better teams, simply because we will be playing a similar style to them. ( That's making it hard to get the ball back when you lose it.) If we can take care of the so called lesser teams while picking up some results against the top 6 we'll be making progress and ok.

I recall at least 3 matches, in close succession, where we literally made about 2/3 half chances in all those games.

We had a run about mid-way ish through last season where we were anything BUT exciting and attacking.

I know Col, apparently we are imagining it all and know nothing about last years season which was full of fast flowing attacking football and bundles of chances. And don't get me started on round pegs in square holes. I'm really hopeful for the season if Puel can play his brand of football with the right personnel in their best positions but I can't be arsed to argue all day with the notion that the football we played bore fruit.
