Good on you for saying something. Took balls, especially with your son there. Unlike the cowards who told you they'd wait outside with their mates. Not sure at what will happen with the complaint but you should be proud you had the balls to say something.

Some great responses, but well done to OP for standing up. It can be a very daunting and upsetting being a minority and getting abused. To have a fellow  fan stand up shows courage. Well done. Would have been great if a few more stood up and shut the c@nt up. Me and a mate (Also of brown colour!!!) Were racially abused about 20 years ago at WBA when about 5-6 white city lads stood toe to toe with the wBA inbreds and stood up for us. Restored my faith in mankind!!!! Pity theres still a minority of w@nkers!!!

There were black kids I knew in east London back in the early '80s who supported WBA because of Regis et al, when all the white kids supported WHU.

Sad irony.

(Also making stereotypes about southeners is regionalism, not racism, unless the southerns are an oppressed racial minority, innit.)

Convinced that it won't be too long (in a couple of seasons or so) until people join Chris Hughton, Chris Powell and Darren Moore as black/ethnic minority managers.

Some people need to remember that, despite it occasionally happening still, the English game with regards to this is much better than countries like Russia for example.

Chucking banana’s on the pitch stopped in the late 80’s, still believe it happens in Russia and the old eastern block countries, if I’m correct, I know monkey chants still happen.

So your right, putting into context, minus a few idiots, racist incidents are at a minimum in the country, with the last big one I remember was aimed at Jews, with one of the London rivals making gas noises.

Banning banter would be a nightmare, but what is and isn’t acceptable?

I was always under the impression it was anything that's deragory, so colour, race, GBLT etc isn't acceptable, sadly you don't have to travel too far out of our county to here the P word in frequent use, especially when you say you're from Leicester.

Amazes me every time.
