Facebook Buy/Sell Group Closing After Being Threatened With Prosecution.

Recommended Posts

Just seen the status today. Even though the closed group is strictly face value sales, the club have put the pressure on and said the admin of the group are liable and responsible for unauthorised ticket sales.

Just wondering where it leaves this forum if the club are putting pressure on the Facebook group, surely it won't be long until they get in touch with the administrators.

This is a real shame. I've used that group twice to get hold of a ticket and both times the people have been great, real Leicester fans who have wanted to help out other fans.

If the group were making money off it i'd understand but soon they'll just end up with empty seats and less revenue at the kiosks if people have no outlet to sell on tickets they can't use.

But the reselling of tickets isn’t illegal. The selling of tickets with no license on the street is but surely if you send them through the post that isn’t illegal

It is. The resale of football tickets is outlawed by seperate legislation to other ticket reselling laws.

In short, any unauthorised resale of football tickets in the UK, face value or not, is illegal.

This. I always figured it was to stop those with banning orders circumventing the system.

If the club bring in a formal platform and there's a small fee it wouldn't be the worst thing, especially if that means it's 100% secure.

If that's not the case then it's lose fvcking lose for mostly genuine fans - selling tickets means less empty seats.

But y'know, rules and that.
