Can we have some positivity having seen fringe players who have new contracts/more regular starting berths to play for treat the shirt with pure giggling contempt? No. If any of them except Choudhury (who at least put in more  effort than you'd see from Dog and Duck FC that morning) never the shirt again, it'll be too soon

I'm just fed up of people making excuses for weakened teams. Every year without fail there's some kind of bullshit excuse. We could lose every single remaining game and get relegated. We could also, god forbid, have won yesterday and then won on Saturday.

 

It's a mentality thing. We've not got it.

Also - even if we do get into the Europa League, you could totally picture us doing a Burnley and bombing to someone we're totally capable of getting past. We'll field a weakened team, churn out the usual excuses and rue the fact Slovan Bratislava have beat us to the group stages.

As much as Puel's getting the stick (which he does deserve some by the way) this isn't anything new to us. We've not taken cups seriously for years. Even last years runs were largely down to lucky draws (and Fleetwood letting us off the hook, Newport didn't).

 

It's all a bit shit really. Even if we do somehow come 7th I just don't think we'll take the Europa League seriously, it'll be more excuses when we lose to someone from Slovakia or Belarus who could only dream of the kind of resources we have, where the fans actively defend being cheated by their own club - the fact is there's far too much reward in football for achieving nothing, and not enough for achieving something, and this dictates why we show this attitude.

Just posting the table doesn’t make me feel any gratitude towards Puel, his side plays sh-te football, it will not last mid-table at best when the season has finished and no nearer a settled balanced team.
