Season over!

Recommended Posts

Can't be arsed reading crap like season over because we've been knocked out the FA Cup. Yeah brilliant, lets just quit now rather than battling on for Europe and a 7th place finish. Yes today was a very disappointing defeat, but saying season over is a stupid overreaction.

We're 7th in the premier league ffs

And then what?

Even if we got into Europe, Claude would put out the same second string teams we've used to forfeit our place in the cup competitions and we'd end up going out to someone like Rubin Kazan. We're not going to win the Europa League, we aren't a very good team. We have good players that get us out of the shite when they can be arsed, but as a unit we are a poor, poor side. It's just fortunate that the Premier League is the the worst it's been in living memory.

I want to win an actual trophy FFS. Why are people trying to defend the indefensible with this bloke?

Aside from the Premier League title win, 7th will be our best ever finish in the Premier League. Not something to brag about, but perhaps a reality check for those who think we're the shittest team in the country sometimes.

That’s right. 7th is our Everest and besides, we’ve done that , but the fa cup and the league cup is what we should be trying to do well in year in year out

I would imagine it really annoys players like Vardy who isn't getting any younger, playing weakened sides in cups. I bet the guy would love a good cup run and try and get to a final just once in his life, he isn't going to get that with this plonker incharge.

Obviously we should be trying to do that. I agree. But how is it season over?

I presume you won't be attending any further matches? Might as well save your money if you're not interested in how the team performs in the league for the next 4 months.

Since people claim to be so bothered about finishing 7th, I assume if we achieve this you will be lining the streets of Leicester to celebrate such a glorious achievement?

No, you won't, because deep down all the lies in the world you can use to defend Puel will not shield you from the fact that you know it's only finishing 7th, you'd be embarrassed to celebrate it like winning a trophy, and you don't really care about the Europa League because it's a 2nd rate European competition that we have no chance of winning, nor the inclination to try.

For Claude it would just mean he could say we qualified for it in order to secure another well paid job, and then he'd try to get knocked out of it as soon as possible.

Ah, shit. In that case we shouldn't have played in the Champions League then. We had no chance of winning it. Should have given it to a bigger club.

Also, didn't know you knew that all fans don't care about the Europa League lol

Personally, I'd love to go on a European tour again and enjoy that we've been able to qualify for it.

If we finish lower than 7th, no doubt you'd be the first to complain that we couldn't finish higher lol

I don't give a s***t about getting in Europe, look what happened to Burnley, I would preferred  a good Cup run

What? Playing in Europe is great and Burnley threw it away because they didn’t take it seriously. It probably set the tone for their season by losing against Olympiakos. Besides we have better resources and a slightly deeper squad

We'll were not going down and we're not going to play in europe. So it's going to be quite a boring end to he season folks. Would anyone agree finishing 7th a progress or does anyone believe with the squad we have we should be doing better. For me with the squad we have it shouldn't surprise me... there's alot of players there pretty average. For me two many individuals that are tad lazy not helped by an unmotivated manager. We have got some great players aswell Vardy, Albrighton, Chilwell, Maguire that are all having to do more than one job, that are papering over the cracks.

Nothing to win! Will still go to the games and hope for sixth! Again sorry, I feel we have missed an opportunity cause of awful team selection. Vardy will never play in a cup final!

How do you think Puel would treat the Europa League? He did not seem to be desperate to get in it last season.

Maybe you ask some Southampton fans

He admitted last season that he felt that the squad wasn't strong enough for European competition, which we all know was true. This year, the squad is probably a bit meh. Next year, however, with the prospect of playing in Europe (if we achieve it) would attract some better signings over the summer.

We couldn’t manage putting a decent side out  against Newport , how would we manage in Europe?

A European competition would be treated differently from an early FA Cup tie with a League 2 side. Though we should've beaten them, we should always look forward. We still have a decent chance of aiming for Europe, and I suggest we back the team to reach it.

Course I’ll still go, I’ve already paid and enjoy the craic, but i think the performance of the team will be a reflection on puels future at the club more than anything else and main topic of interest for many suppprters will be how long the manager will last, which is a pretty damning way to go forward as a club with fans thinking about non footballing things.

So what do we have too play for?

- Our second highest ever finish

- European football

- An improvement on last season

- Further establishing ourselves as a good premier league outfit

Am I happy we're out of the cup? Absolutely not. But to say the season is over is daft imho. If we were 13th then I might agree with you but we're 7th.

U wot m8?

You'd rather good cup run (getting to semi final) than get into Europe via league?

Suppose you would rather we were in a relegation battle, so that the season would not be "over"?

No, but we are safe and only one cup to play for! Not hard is it?
