Do Dreams Mean Anything?

It wouldn’t necessarily lower the value though. I imagine Hitler memorabilia would still sell and people still buy Michael Jackson records.

True. I think Rolf Harris' artwork is probably worth less now than it was, though. That's a good point actually. Why should the same crime affect artist's work differently? You never hear Gary Glitter's music anymore, but Michael Jackson's still gets played. No-one seems to care that Gaugin was a syphilitic nonce, either.

Anyway, I like that you questioned that, rather than the fact that there was a Beastie Boy called Adam Johnson, and that his name was on all their merchandise. ;)

I guess they could have changed their name to the sex-beastie boys... :D

I've just remembered a dream I had recently. I dreamt I had found a lot of vintage Beastie Boys merchandise that I had completely forgotten I had. I was looking through it all and was thinking how cool it was, and wondering how much it would be worth, but really wanting to keep it and wear the t-shirts. There were socks, as well lol, Then I noticed it all had their individual names on. I know what their names are, but for some reason, in the dream, I thought one of the Adams was the namesake of the Sunderland paedo Adam Johnson. I was gutted. It wasn't worth anything, and I am not wearing anything with a kiddy fiddler's name on.

It got me wondering, has anything like this actually happened? I wonder if there's anyone with Ian Watkins (from Steps) merchandise who had to throw it away?

Years ago, my dad was investing in Banksy prints. He was recommending everyone else should. One person he talked to said he'd already got a big art collection. Guess who the artist was? Rolf Harris.

Ian Watkins from the lostprophets do you mean?

No. I meant H from Steps, and anything with his name on being rendered worthless because of the Lostprophets' Ian Watkins. I was trying to think of an example of someone having something with an innocent person's name on that would be tainted by the actions of someone else who shares the same name.

There might be an innocent person out there who just happened to be called Jimmy Savile, who might have had a business with his name on, for example. The minute all that came out, his life is turned upside down through no fault of his own.

Ah I see, I hadn’t even realised they shared the same name until your post but I get your point now

I'm not sure how old you are, so you might not remember this, but in the Seventies, there was a highly successful slimming product called Ayds; then in the early Eighties, people started dropping dead of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome...
