There's no way Robbens coming here to earn 50k a week. Isn't it now much harder to earn big bucks in China, Rooney is paid only 3m a year by his American club (rest is made up by Everton and United). He may also fancy continuing to play at a decent level.
Deeg67 Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Don't get the idea that Robben would only be signed as a mentor in the dressing room. The man is still a serious threat from the wing.

whoareyaaa Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Do it! Just bring him on every game for 20 minutes and let him rip loose

How do you know he wouldn't use it as a way to get into coaching or what ever. The guy is 35 and I'm sure has enough money to last several life times. I just think it's wrong for everyone to assume he would want a wedge, we wouldn't pay him that anyway, there is no way we would make him one of the highest paid players at the club, meaning he would genuinely want to come here. I doubt there is anything in this as it's only a random link to some odds on a betting website, but stranger things have happened in football.

I just can't see a world famous player like Robben coming here for a third of his current wages, not when he could to a different country, play top division football in a warm climate and still be paid handsomely while awaiting his retirement age to come round.
Lovejoy Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 He has said previously he wants to finish his career at Groningen, his first club, but whether he’s ready to do that yet is another question.
