cisono Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 Paddy has improved immensely with regards to the silly fouls. I'd agree that he has made far fewer mistakes lately. Whether this is an improvement or a lucky occurrence will become clear in the future.
Cat Burger Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 I think people are over rating McCarthy's game today, Adebola and McSheffrey won too many headers against him. Felt for Stearman, it WAS too far. If someone had done that to me I'd be useless for the rest of the game.
shadowman Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 when i seen stearman make that mistake he was well pissed off with him self he went bright red but he only a yound lad and the only way he is goin to learn is by makeing mistakes ever player does it some time but he still had a gd game and put in a couple of gd shoots

cisono Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 i think he did well to get on with it though i thought he had a good game again The fact that he picked himself up again shows character...
Cat Burger Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 Oops I should've said he did well to pick himself up again. Yeah, he did well to pick himself up again.
Chimp Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 I had a very clear view of the incident, I personally think Stearman (as much as I like him) deserved a bollocking and it was good to see someone in a City shirt show so much passion. That said, grabbing him round the throat was going too far, I thought McCarthy over-reacted, the hand on the back of the neck and the verbal was plenty enough to get the message across. To be honest I think it was a gut-reaction from McCarthy, he had only just almost scored an own goal due to Stearman's error, he probably had a ton of adrenaline pumping through him. I bet he regrets his actions now and has apologised to Stearman.
Hitesh Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 Its a tough call. He is a young lad and he is still learning. But to be fair, maybe somehting like that is needed for a young kid and helps him relaise at what level he is playing at. If Stearman can take that then it will be good because he will learn, however a down side is that he might panic next time and struggle to make a quick decision. What would have been better is if Dublin had done that because i reckon there is more respect for Dion from Stearman.
Ultra Posted 23 October 2005 Posted 23 October 2005 Both players have probably forgotten about the incident. So should we. Paddy's reaction was no different to what Taggart or Walsh would've done. Anyway, I think Maybury should return at right back for the Cardiff game.

Kis Kis Kisnorbo Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Stearman has got good talent for his age, however i believe that a loan move to a lower league club will do him good. He needs to learn that he cant keep flying into challenges, he will hurt someone and we wouldnt want that now would we. the end
Guest Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Giving the lad a telling off is one thing, assaulting him is another. I don't care if it makes it look like Paddy cares, it was out of order. It's not even as if he's faultless himself. Hypocrite.

Hypocrite. football is a passionate game , paddy let passion get the better of him . as i guy who plays a lot of football its something that i have seen quite often , although paddy went over the top im sure stearman wont be trying ridicoulous things like that in his own box again . maybe dion should have been the 1 doing the shouting as you say paddy hasnt really covered himself in glory this season

Don't get me wrong, I'd probably behave like that myself, but that's because I have a nasty temper and it has little bearing on anything else!
Anish Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 If I was Stearman I would have battered him Errm Stearman v McCarthy, I know who I'd put my money on
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Errm Stearman v McCarthy, I know who I'd put my money on Richies a big lad though see it going to points myself
Cat Burger Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Errm Stearman v McCarthy, I know who I'd put my money on Ok, If I was Stearman I'd (wait for him to go to sleep) then batter him
Louise Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Hmm. Not sure Stearman wants to follow in the footsteps of Wise...
filbertway Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 Didnt gerry do this to matt reeves on reeves' debut when a pass went astray. Gerry did ok for us good on ya paddy as long as your still mates with each other its all good

I would have been close to tears if i was Stearman. He made a mistake. He knows that. He doesn't need that happening to him to know that.
Jimmy Posted 24 October 2005 Posted 24 October 2005 you cant blame paddy for adebola winning headers, dublin was making him
