Leicester69 Posted 31 July 2019 Posted 31 July 2019 What was the name of the Hotel LCFC used as the ticket collection point for Champs Lge game? Looking for a hotel for a couple of nights and I seem to recall that was fairly central/decent and right near the tram...thanks in advance for any info

Stadt Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 The ticket collection thing was bullshit, the club said it was UEFA protocol. Blatant lie.

It did highlight just how many of our away tickets are purchased and then just passed on to random people. As soon as you had to match the ticket purchaser with a passport and prove you actually travelled it got a lot lower down the priority levels than expected. Was a good thing in my opinion, England have done it for years.

The club confirmed at a meeting there was people who purchased and never collected as well which means they either brought just to keep points total up or planned to sell on and couldn't because of the collection system put in place. Thng is tho as a 5 off it wasn't to bad and in the main I was in each city at least a day before so was able to do 1st thing on the day of game and get on with my day. But talk of doing it in the PL week in week out would be a ball ache. I know the club discussed doing it for random games during the season. Didn't man Utd do it at our place a few years back as well. They had to collect from the tigers from memory.
Soup Posted 1 August 2019 Posted 1 August 2019 Twice got tickets with other people's passports. Porto was especially funny as I got 2 tickets in 5 minutes on separate passports. Still makes me chuckle that.

Agree with most posters, it didn't take more than 10 minutes and it ensured everyone got a ticket in priority order, and not the friends or randoms who buy off people at the top. Much tougher to implement at Premier League games but for the highest demand games it could work as a deterrent. With only 3 of our away games last year selling out to STH and members, I don't think there's a need domestically for it for us.

Felt a real drop off of interest and affection for the football. The vibe for months was negative. Certainly think interest will pick up again if we start playing well under Brendan.
