boots60 Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Harry J Allstars classic ska tune The Liquidator is played at Stamford Bridge before each game but I reckon it was nicked from Wolves. I seem to remember it was played regularly at Molineux back in the 1970s Can any (older) Foxestalk posters confirm this as I have a pint riding on it. Thanks in advance.
purpleronnie Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 "Way back in 1969, supporters of the Chelsea football team revered players such as Bonetti, Osgood and Hollins. The boys performed under the watchful eye of manager Dave Sexton to the tune of Harry J & All Stars chartbuster, "The Liquidator"." Probably wolves nicked from Chelsea, but not sure it's provable.
yorkie1999 Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 It doesn't matter who sang it first, it's what you do with it and when wolves and west brom play each other it sounds amazing.

The Baggies also stake a claim which is why they recently played it during a home match against Chelsea. Who was first is a matter of contention. Both West Brom and Chelsea fans claim that it was played at the Hawthorns and Stanford Bridge as far back as 1969 when it was released. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-west-brom-chelsea-liquidator-15937180
