Exactly with Chilwell.....played the England style....get the ball, move slowly to halfway and turn back. He had one great shot but like him better when he overlaps.

We're not going to become a top six side until we start thinking like one, and bossing sides from the off. 

 

Currently we're far too passive, and far too respectful of other club's past reputations.

For some tine he is too ponderous... when we want to attack quickly. If defenders are back peddling they can't attack the ball.  Imo chilly needs to mix it up.  Run to byline. .. put ball in early. ...cut in and pass.   This will keep defenders guessing   he also needs to select his option as the ball comes to him.  As he ponders the defence get set.

like many he's taking too long to think. We have become a team who are not acting quickly enough because we are not thinking quickly enough and then we end up passing backwards and sideways and getting very few shots off.

 

It's the same with throw ins where we wait for a particular player to jog over and take the throw, by which time the opposition are set up. we then nearly always end up passing the ball back to the throw (usually Ricardo or Chilly) and more often than not waste any opportunity we had. We need to speed our game up everywhere all over the pitch. Quick throw ins, quick thinking, quick passing forwards.

 

Chilly and N'Didi are probably the biggest culprits in the team for slow thinking (Dimi too, but that's possibly a genetic problem).

Don't know about everyone else but it infuriates me so much watching Maddison walk slowly over to every corner he's taking even when we're losing

We do just let teams settle. That's why we struggle breaking them down.

 

We really need to break out of this habit and start forcing more errors.

.. we are a high tempo team! 

Irrespective of the personnel, we want to be on the front foot, the coach apparently doesn't think so!!
