Cobbo Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Scowy (whom was at the game) said: We were the better side in the second half, but failed to create much. Smith's introduction made us look more dangerous. Gerrbrand and McCarthy looked comfortable at the back
Louise Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 CL says we weren't good in the first half, but improved in the second. He likes Paddy and Totte playing together at the back. Says MDV didn't have a very good game Says he thinks we're getting better but we're not quite there yet. Says our supporters are fantastic. And bless CL, he was forced to repeat exactly what he said at 2:30 about the Bolton tie...just bring up the soundbite RL! Oh, and he gave Sheehan a mention

Louise Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 He was asked about our squad generally and he said he was fairly happy with it but they're all young and learning and mentioned Stearman and Sheehan as great prospects coming though. I just mentioned it to prove that he's not been forgotten by CL.
Gené and Tonic Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 I suppose that's a good thing, would still like to see him being played more often though. Wonder if Gilbert will be on his way in the summer or possibly even January. He's nowhere in sight.

Louise Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Is a bit strange. I did read one Plymouth fan's comments that Gilbert was very inconsistent for them but had one of his best games when we played them last year, which might be why Levein bought him in. Although I can't imagine he'd buy after only seeing him play once.
Louise Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Oh dear, rant line is open still apparently, haven't heard that mentioned for a few weeks.
Thracian Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Just write a bloody letter to Craig Levein will you. One minute you say you don't care about Hughes and Williams playing then you moan no good passes are being played. Your suggestion to solve everything is a 19 year old left back. Yes and we've got a young right back most of the time in Stearman and an 18-year-old Gold-Smith. Sheehan can well stand in their company so what's your point? My reference to Hughes and Williams was in relation to today's circumstances and whether Gold-Smith played or not. And I think my point was proved completely. Gold-Smith did pose a threat and if he'd been used from the start and if Leicester had really tried to win the match from the start then we might not have wilfully squandered two valuable points. I've said loud and clear we need two goals a game. Levein is now committing so many resources to his precious clean sheets that we have no link to the attack. Sheehan can help that link - I don't know what you or Levein has got against him - but it amounts to a wilful refusal to play the best side just in the same way as playing Gold-Smith for one half only. Nils contribution to attack was virtually zero and when he did move forward he took all the wrong options. What is it about Nils the left back that you like so much - is it anything to do with his ability or something to do with him being an acceptable age?.
Bert Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 De vries banned for next week, maybe Hume and Hammond up front??
Thracian Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Awwwww Gudjonsen just mmissed - deflection off the wall And Sylla should have done better from the corner When does Sylla ever score - or even look like scoring?
Thracian Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 not beaten which is a result all the same You are so easily satisfied. Draws are no f.....g good at all.

Did he apologise for continually insulting the kid or what?

Draws are better than loses, although I do think we should have won this game What on earth did he say about Sheehan? Did he apologise for continually insulting the kid or what? He has never insulted him.
Samu Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 Just got back from the game...indeed McCarthy and Gerrbrand were probably the best on show today...but in general the game was fairly dire. The introduction of Dublin was the catalyst of our late pressure, he did more in the 20 mins he was on than De Vries in 70 mins. Hamill was poor, Sylla was hit and miss. McCarthy should be made captain, he has the passion which I loved to see. Anyway wasn't the best match for my first away game ever on my 20th Birthday. Btw I'm pretty sure I saw Anish, think you were sitting about 3 rows behind me and my brother, didn't wanna say hello in case it wasn't you.
Anish Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 de Vries skipper. Didn't know that I didn't realise that either, I thought it was a bit strange how MDV gave Dublin the captain's armband when the substitution was made In any case, De Vries is not captain material, especially in the form he was in today. It should have been McCarthy or Maybury. Humey close. Side-netting. Yes, but that was a golden chance. He should have hit the target at least. 8-10 yards out with a free shot on goal. Not good enough. Douglas mistake and Davidson just wide with header. Three good chances for Preston. We've made these shits look twice as good as they ever are. It was Douglas who flapped at the corner, but Callum was unmarked for 15 seconds before the corner was even kicked. I was shouting (obviously not that it makes any difference!) for somebody to mark Davidson, he was all alone at the back post and nobody even looked interested in picking him up. Poor defending, lucky that it was Davidson who never scores. Barber just called Smith 'Smudger Smith' Oh my. lol Just got back from the game...indeed McCarthy and Gerrbrand were probably the best on show today...but in general the game was fairly dire. It was a bad match to watch for your first away game! It was probably me, I was sat halfway up towards the back near the middle of the goal. You should've said hello
cisono Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 The game would have gone very differently if we'd had Frank Lampard playing for us
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 De vries banned for next week, maybe Hume and Hammond up front?? I think you had to collect six yellow cards to get banned De Vries only got five by way it sounds like Hume has bad game two easy chances squandred (SP)
Jimmy Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 I think you had to collect six yellow cards to get banned De Vries only got five by way it sounds like Hume has bad game two easy chances squandred (SP) wtf are you taking, as long as i can remember its always been 5 yellow for a 1 match ban
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 wtf are you taking, as long as i can remember its always been 5 yellow for a 1 match ban oops maybe it is a rule in Spain or Italy or somewhere like that I read that in Pro Evo Soccer 4 guide book that comes with the game
Cobbo Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 oops maybe it is a rule in Spain or Italy or somewhere like that I read that in Pro Evo Soccer 4 guide book that comes with the game Very factual
martyn Posted 29 October 2005 Posted 29 October 2005 To be honest, this game had 0-0 written all over it.
