BenFilbert Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 I think it will come eventually. Give them time! We will be brilliant next season.
Anish Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 There is a difference between having a good defence and a defensive strategy, the latter is often viewed as negative. I personally feel that we SHOULD be more attack minded, after all we have the supposed pace and flair! We ALWAYS look better going forward, and who didnt think that the last 10 mins of the Preston game werent good? Thats probably because we were pressing, NOT sitting back and playing the game across the middle, where frankly we are at our poorest at the moment. Get stuck in!! Completely agree, well said.
Guest Gist Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 I think we will be good later on in the season when the team has had more time to gel and the strength in depth of our squad could benefit us later on too
The People's Hero Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 Reminds me of that Beautiful South song. This has no relevance by the way, just thought I'd mention it. As you were.
cisono Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 Levein: Says Foxes need time to gel Great picture!
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 i think a year is more than enough time We've improved though and are improving, what do you expect from Leicester? Do you want another short term fix in place? If so, get yourself a plaster.

Gené and Tonic Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 We've improved though and are improving, what do you expect from Leicester? Do you want another short term fix in place? If so, get yourself a plaster. I expect them to be strongly challenging for a promotion place.
shen Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 Don't lie Shen... why would I lie about a link not working?
Hazza Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 ask yourself ONE question If ... heaven forbid, Colin Wanka was made Boss of LCFC tomorrow. Who would he play and in what formation.... I can guarantee it will be more attackingly focussed. Sheff Utd play with two defensive midfielders essentially, Montgomery and Jagielka, and then two wingers, and even recently there's been Alan Quinn out wide, and he's not a natural winger. Unless you didn't mean Warnock and i'm mistaken, but they only play attacking because they've got pretty good forwards, really the same setup as us. Plus they've got a fair few better players.

Gené and Tonic Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 On what basis? We can't let our reputation as a big club diminsh. I don't want Leicester to be a mid table Championship side, I want them to be a side challenging for the play-offs like Luton and Watford and Leeds. If we just accept that we are a mid table club, we won't get any higher. We won't be able to attract better players, or better managers.
The People's Hero Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 With all this Levein saying 'I need more time' isn't it about time the board said... 'ok, how much time do you need, Mr Levein?'
Gené and Tonic Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 In my opinion I think the board should sack him if we don't finish higher than 11th this season. The performances aren't good enough. He has been an excellent appointment off the pitch. But on it there is little improvement. (although i do agree he is better than Adams)
Louise Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 With all this Levein saying 'I need more time' isn't it about time the board said... 'ok, how much time do you need, Mr Levein?' Not to be pedantic or anything... ... but Levein never actually said 'I need more time', he said 'it will take more time'.
The People's Hero Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 You're right, that wasn't pedantic at all! (in the same way as this isn't sarcastic)

If we just accept that we are a mid table club, we won't get any higher. We won't be able to attract better players, or better managers. I don't want Leicester to be a midtable Championship side and i'm sure all other City fans don't either but we believe in what Levein is doing here and if there are signs of improvement then he is worth sticking with. If it was revealed that Levein would never be able to take this club any further than midtable in this league then i'd agree with you and get rid of him, but nobody can state that that is the case. I would much rather have a manager like Levein who wants to build a solid foundation at a club than a manager who wants to try and get instant success with short term fixes. There are alot of teams in this league who have been there for a long while and it's taken them years and years to get the right formula to challenge in the top 3 or 4 in this league. Some have gone through many managers trying to find success others have stuck with the same manager and tried to build something each season like Sheffield United. What people forget is when they look at other teams is every team is completely different with different circumstances, etc. Leicester by rights should find it easier than most clubs in this league to get back on the right track as we have had the parachute payments but it's fair to say that alot of that money was eaten up by Micky Adams one year wonders last season and Levein has tried to buy more shrewdly and in my opinion he has done. Every fan wants their club to succeed but i've supported Leicester long enough to know that it doesn't come around that often and it's important to make sure the club is solid as a unit with an outlook on bringing through quality youngsters that will aid us in getting promotion. If it takes 2 or 3 more years then so be it, to build a club with little money that has good young players who can take the club in to the premiership takes time. There aren't many clubs or managers that have managed to do it in the past, especially in this day and age when it's getting harder and harder to reach the promise land and stay there. Get behind Levein and stop thinking grass is greener on the other side because chances are it isn't. You can waffle on about Watford and Southend all you like, but by the end of next season i'm willing to have a nifty on it that Leicester will be considerably better off than the both of them in many aspects.
