Benji Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 high and dry, what a song Prefer Jamie Cullum's version any day though
Wellman Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 Unfortunetly it all appears to be about radiohead My thoughts exactly . They're well depressing, make me want to die
Libertine Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 Never got why they were so big until recently. Karma Police Fake Plastic Trees High And Dry All great songs. Still haven't heard that much of them to be honest. What is the name of the song with the lyrics..."Faaaaaaade oouuutttt..Aggaaaaaiiiiinnnn.." Cobbo?
The People's Hero Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 I've been thinkin' about you... Is one of my faves. The Bends is a great track (and album)
Alexikokopops Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 Thank you gladly. "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" if we're being picky
Head Honcho Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 high and dry, what a song Prefer Jamie Cullum's version any day though Can't choose between them but i'll go for Radiohead because it's got that raw sound

Dunc Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 THe whole of The Bends and OK Computer are class. Then they disappeared up a prog rock arsehole never to return.
Jordan Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 Radiohead--wonderful group.. Thom is such a great songwriter that the group pretty much has a blank check when it comes to recording. OK Computer is at the pinnacle of pop music crafstmanship and it still sounds excellent after almost a decade. It is, without a doubt, my favorite album of the 90s. As for their newer releases... call it what you want, but underneath all their experimenting, their songs are still solid. If you're looking for a dark atmospheric sound, there's Kid A, although you won't get your money's worth because there are a few tracks that aren't really songs, just sounds. When I first heard Amnesiac, I dismissed it as strange crap left over from Kid A that didn't quite make the cut. However, when I dug it out a year later and gave it another listen, I was taken by surprise--most of the songs on it are, well, songs! It is much more accessible than I thought. If you want something that will cause you to shiver, listen to "Pyramid Song." But if you feel like bouncin' a little, put on "I Might Be Wrong"--perhaps the only Radiohead song to which, if you try hard enough, you could probably dance. Hail to the Thief isn't exactly the "OK Computer II" that we were all hoping for (both in terms of sound and quality) but it is still a good album indeed and there's a lot of variety on it. If I had to rank Radiohead albums, it'd go like this (from best to worst): OK Computer Amnesiac Hail to the Thief The Bends Kid A Pablo Honey (...and I do enjoy all of those albums with the possible exception of Pablo Honey, to which I almost never listen besides when "Creep" comes on the radio.)
Dunc Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 Nah, I don't buy into this Hail to the Thief business, it was shite and there were about 2 good songs on it, the rest was poor (IMO). Amnesiac has got another 1-2 good songs on it, as I would expect from a band as good as Radiohead have proved to be, but for pure song quality and most importantly, songs that work even though they are probably deemed as being sometimes simple, I would have OK Computer and The Bends at the top, with Amnesiac 3rd, Hail to the Thief 4th and Kid A 5th. Just to point out that 3rd-5th are still better than most of the crap churned out per year by the music industry.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 If I had to rank Radiohead albums, it'd go like this (from best to worst): OK Computer Amnesiac Hail to the Thief The Bends Kid A Pablo Honey (...and I do enjoy all of those albums with the possible exception of Pablo Honey, to which I almost never listen besides when "Creep" comes on the radio.) I'd almost agree, but I'd swap The Bends with Amnesiac, I love The Bends.
Cobbo Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 Exit Music (For A Film) Warra song. Love Karma Police too Ah, love them all.
The People's Hero Posted 4 November 2005 Posted 4 November 2005 I don't think Pablo Honey deserves to come in at the bottom. 1) Ok Computer 2) The Bends 3) Amnesiac 4) Pablo Honey 5) Hail to the Thief 6) Kid A
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 11 November 2005 Posted 11 November 2005 The People's Hero, what you on about? You slagged my music taste about the fact that I bet I hate all artists when they reach the charts, but as well as lots of underground acts I love REM, U2, The Cure - best band ever - Bob Dylan, Joy Division and of course Radiohead... Best Radiohead stuff is their experimental stuff:- 1. Kid A 2. OK Computer 3. Amnesiac 4. The Bends 5. Pablo Honey 6. Hail to the Thief Nuff said !!
The People's Hero Posted 12 November 2005 Posted 12 November 2005 Well you have your opinion and I'll have my (better) one! Tongue in cheek mate.. I just don't like Kid A, maybe I haven't listened to it enough, don't actually own the album.
Phil Posted 12 November 2005 Posted 12 November 2005 according to nme magazine they are looking likely to headline V festival next year
FoxInTheSnow Posted 15 November 2005 Posted 15 November 2005 I love the NME.....V admit approaching Radiohead....Radiohead have said that next year they will play some gigs = Radiohead to Headline V albums for me go ok comp kid a the bends hail to the thief amnesiac pablo honey i would probably stick the live ep after kid a or after the bends. not too sure.
MC Prussian Posted 15 November 2005 Posted 15 November 2005 OK Computer Pablo Honey Haven't listened to "The Bends" yet, but from you guys are saying, it's worth giving a go.
MC Prussian Posted 16 November 2005 Posted 16 November 2005 Yup. Finally did it. I very much enjoyed "The Bends", but would not put it before "OK Computer". It will stay second on my list. Still a quality album. Very melodic.
TrickyTrev Posted 18 November 2005 Posted 18 November 2005 Pfft you all know Kid A is the best Radiohead Album.. Kid A OK Computer Amnesiac The Bends Hail To The Thief Pablo Honey ... and the best song is not on any of them. It is the divine, True Love Waits off the I Might be Wrong EP. Make sme wanna.
